What's the difference in Clemson struggling with Syracuse and UCF struggling with Temple?

Please tell me. I'm dying to hear you explain why Clemson can struggle with a team that plays it's home games in a basketball arena but UCF can't struggle without being "exposed".....

How about this one... UCF has played no one with a pulse and never scheduled a P5 opponent. If you want to come throug the AAC you better get some big boys on your OOC schedule. UCF plays a close game they are out period.
Clemson plays a tough OOC schedule every year and normally a tough ACC conference (this year is just bad). Also we lost to Syracuse minus a starting QB last year and won a close game with a RS Fresh QB. Pull your head out of your crappy SCar hole if you think UCF and Clemson are on the same get a pass game you struggle with category. Try educating yourself about lower tier conferences and lower tier teams... such as UCF and even worse SCar.

"UCF has never scheduled a P5 opponent"
Wut?
They beat Pitt this year, Maryland last year, and had games cancelled against Georgia Tech and UNC.

My bad... I left out decent. To be considered good enough to make playoffs you better go schedule something a heck of a lot better than Pitt and Maryland. Curious who won between Pitt and the former worst team in the ACC the Heels. Also... scheduling Maryland real tough... they are trying to figure out how to hire, rehire, and fire a coach all while just trying to keep their players alive. Go put Clemson, Notre Dame, UGa on your schedule, then a tier 2 team like Stanford, Oregon, LSU, etc... then go put a tier 3 school like WVU, Texas, Oh St, TCU... and a tier 4 like SCar. Only way to offset them not playing P5.
They won’t do that of course because Clemson hammers them by 3 TDs.

Tier 4 Team like USuC ?
If there are only 4 tiers , then that last tier must be like the filter in a transmission ... catching all the shredded remnants and such .

Coots should schedule UCF for their makeup game this year.
Wut?
No chance that’s going to happen because you’re going to need a guaranteed win for bowl eligibility & coot coaches & admin know UCF would mop the field with your defense.
Care to chime in on your own team here?

You make a great point. Also Oklahoma barely beat Army and they are a legit top 10 team. It happens. That said UCF still has no chance to make the playoffs as they shouldn't. They can claim another fake Natty if they go unbeaten but nobody will really care.

Clemson was playing with a true freshman backup QB

with minimal snaps. We also won a real national championship.
UCF is playing the first team they have seen with a pulse and getting a game. They also have a national championship banner in their stadium, but no trophy for it in a trophy case.
UCF is kind of like you on Tigernet...annoying and people wish they (you)would go away.

For starters I’d say a big difference is that Syracuse hasn’t lost games against Villanova and Buffalo the way Temple has. It’s also not the only struggle UCF has had this year. They had to come from behind to beat Memphis by 1 point a week before Memphis lost 65-33 to a bottom of the SEC Missouri team.

A couple differences

I for one actually appreciate your differing viewpoints and honest questions. To me that doesn't mean you're a gamecock troll, it simply means you aren't a sheep.
On the surface it isn't completely different but there are differences. 1- Syracuse is proving through their ranking that they're a top 25 team. 2- it could be argued our offense was in it's infancy to start the game and went into complete survival mode after TL went down. 3- This game tonight appears to be 1's vs 1's and my brain tells me UCF's D couldn't stop the offense of any top 25 team.

I like differing viewpoints too... especially ones that are rooted in some basic understanding of football. Sadly JHops whine isn’t. Despite the great team UCF fielded last year... this years team isn’t great. Clemson wins by 3-4 TDs.

It's funny that you think a basic understanding of football implies that you look at every non power 5 team as not belonging on the same field with P5 teams.....even though THEY BEAT THOSE TEAMS.
If UCF can put a 30 point beat down on Pitt they can play with the bigger schools and they should have a shot if they go undefeated. If not why include them in the rankings at all?

Good point. I was just about to add that we didn’t give up over 600 yards of offense against Syracuse. Think what this Temple game would be if the penalty yards weren’t 134-25.
