Grill marks need work. How does one keep a grill that clean?

Those who know me will attest I’m way more concerned with flavor than presentation. The steaks came from Ingles. They run specials on either NY strips or ribeyes at a pretty decent price about once a month. When they do I buy several and put them in the freezer. They also have really nice thick center cut pork chops for about $2.98 per pound pretty often. 2 nice pork chops are about $5 at that price. I do the same when they are on sale - stock up and freeze them. Really hard to beat that deal. A lot of it depends on how good the meat cutter at a particular store is. We usually go to the Clemson Ingles to buy meat because their cuts are a lot better than at the store in Easley. The Seneca store is very good too.

After every use I burn off any food on the grate and clean it with a stone cleaning block from Lowes. Like a pumice stone. I highly recommend them. Over the years I’ve used everything from tin foil to wire brushes to Brillo pads. These stones do a great job and seem to not damage the grates as much as tin foil. It does leave a little grit on the grates that you have to wipe off with a wet paper towel. The grill is about 2 and a half years old and I cook on it 2-3 times per week except from about December to February. It’s just my wife and me at home now so I’m usually not cooking a lot at one time.
