The NCAA is a joke; toothless as for enforcing any rules. Wait, there are no rules now right ?

the past 5 years are under NCAA investigation, UGA and LSU.
It looks like it really is Clemson, Alabama, and everyone else.

That is nothing but talk. The NCAA will never, ever punish an SEC team adequately. Look at their history. They have had numerous SEC teams guilty of rules violations and have done no more than a wrist slap. Auburn is one that should have been punished severely but it didn't happen. NCAA sanctions should not even be feared anymore unless you are in a lesser conference. The NCAA is a mere shell of its former self that is totally controlled by several conferences and certain schools.

I also think that article doesn't really say anything other than “nervous” and then backs down from that having any gravity. It could be something like a “Kirby taking jogs with players after practice”-type violation (dramatic effect).
But in fairness, they did hit UGA on basically the same violation that UNC committed and didn’t get anything for (paper classes). UNC did it for 10x as long but crucially claimed it is part of their curriculum. At least UGA’s president wasn’t in on theirs. So, its hard to make this a conference-level exception.
I like Auburn (the town) but that athletic department is a hot mess. How you go from Pat Dye as a coach to an AD to a high-profile recruiting booster — all of which come with separate scandals — and still participate in NCAA-regulates events is beyond me.

They have more organized cheating and don't mind killing their staff and players to win. Turdbee is a filthy, bad human.

and there are studies that show that cheating is beneficial as long as you are successful and don't get caught until later even if the school is punished.

We took our punishment … now, will your program do the same?

You can’t just point the finger at something from 1981 and then act like the Georgia program is immune through “What-about-ism.
When Georgia actually pays any sort of price for blatant cheating then everyone will probably be satisfied.

What constitutes a recruiting violation anymore? You can only pay them on certain days? I think the NCAA will get a nice cash infusion from this, and it goes away.

don't forget a recruit getting a free baseball hat, another getting a ride across campus from an assistants wife, and the cu program povided free dental work.the latter happened, because the player who ran up the bill skipped town, and CU felt obligated to pay the dentist.all ncaa felonies.

The NCAA is spineless when it shouldn't be. It's over the top 9 times out of 10, the rest of the time. And and another situation they be counted on to be picking their nose.

Even if there were serious violations, the NCAA won't do anything about it. Besides i didn't realize recruiting violations were a thing these days. Much ado about nothing.

Rumor has it that they are likely to be stripped of both titles. When it happens we go back to 1980 as the last championship year.

Someone needs to clean up a few things down there for sure. They were having guys routinely suspended under Richt as well and I figured he would run as clean a program as you possibly could.
