I Had to Go Shopping

Losing 30 pounds during my current episode with excess body fluid has required me to do a little shopping for clothing that fits. I had to get some new clothing when I had lost about 15 pounds, Right now I'm at 155 pounds and don't plan to go any lower. My trouser size at his weight is 36/30".
I didn't want to invest a lot in clothing in my recent shopping trip until my weight was stabilized. So, I went to Walmart in Central and bought a pair of suntans ($18) and a shirt ($10.). During my shopping spree after losing 15 pounds, I went to Belks and bought three pairs of trousers and three Izod shirts. The shirts were on sale and still cost $25., two and one-half times more than my Walmart shirt. When i got home I compared the two shirts, Walmart's and the Izod. The Walmart shirt was a better quality material and the workmanship was much better than that of the Izod. If I can cave that kind of money, I'm not ashamed to shop at Walmart.

I think Izod makes pretty good shirts Joe. I'm assuming they're pullover polos.

Ive never been a big guy but it’s been a while since I had a 32 inch waist. I rather like it! Shop wisely.

The Izod shirts were dress shirts just like the one I got at Walmart. In addition to the differences cited above, the Izod shirt (the Izod and Walmart shirts are supposedly the same size, the Izod shirt does not fit as well. I've had no problem with the Izod polo shirts.

I have about 4 pair of khaki Izod golf shorts. My kids make fun of me because that's all I'll wear in the summer. I ordered another pair from Belk online and had curbside pickup. I assumed they would fit just like the others since they were the same size. Wrong! Too tight! I emailed Izod with pictures of my older shorts and the new pair. The size difference was evident. They were super friendly and sent me a brand new pair of the style that I like. They never even asked for the pair that I bought from Belk.

FINALLY! Someone else asked cause I dang’d sure wasn’t going to let anyone know that I had no clue what ‘suntans’ were.

My family's experience with Izod has always been good, but I still refer to them as $9 shirts with a $40 alligator. (And interestingly enough, I just got a pop-up Belk's ad for, you guessed it, $9 Izod shirts.)

Izod no longer is tied to the alligator.
That would be Lacoste at about $75.
