Lord Perry's...GauntletX

So NS's annual Gauntlet youth conference is this week down in Florida. I've seen all sorts of videos, pictures, and articles. What I want to discuss and get your opinion on is HOW these kids are being "saved".

You can watch it live below.

These youth are ushered into a massive arena, given pumped up talks and concerts....and then told if the "spirit" leads them to come to the alter to accept Jesus as their savior. Then per above they walk them all out to the ocean, and baptize them. Check, souls saved.

What are your thoughts on this sort of conversion/soul saving? Do you consider this real?

To me, this is just pressurized acceptance and NS wants to use it just to advertise numbers per above. Its just watered down Christianity. I think its sad that these kids are peer-pressured into salvation.

I completely agree with their intent. Its just sickening to me.

From a religious perspective, I'm not sure I understand your position. How can you personally tell which salvations are real vs fake? Is there some sort of on/off switch you can see that I'm missing?

Every religion says something different and even different sects within the same religion don't agree. I'm not sure how you believe any of it to be honest. Seems like the biggest factor determining your salvation is where you were born.

If you were born just a few hours north you would most likely be catholic and/or non-religious. In the middle east, you would probably be muslim. Not much of a choice in the matter it seems...

Welcome to religion. What did you expect?

What is he teaching that's so absurd compared to the rest of churches in town?

Here are his claims:

1. We are all sinners and need salvation
2. Only way to that salvation is Christ.
3. Turn your life over to Christ and you will be saved.

I um, don't really see the difference... do other Christian's just not want people getting saved at too fast of a rate? Or worried heaven my be crowded?

I think many don't like him because of some things he has said and how his church operates, etc.

(But I could be wrong)

I have no clue really. I've seen bits and pieces here and there on here in the past but I really didn't pay it a lot of attention
