Agreed. I think Deon likes this type of attention and it is going to be par for the course for Colorado going forward. This may a tad out of context since the entire speech isn't posted there. If he is basically saying they are going to compete and have accountability, then I don't see an issue with it. He is going to get some big-time recruits now that he is with a power 5 school. He was doing pretty good in recruiting with already. This is going to be an interesting hire and I am looking forward to seeing what he does.

I hope he can put together a 50+ recruiting class. Deon puts the "I" in team.

My son sent me a text last night saying he read on social media that Colorado had about 200 inquiries regarding football transfers in.

He will lose often and he will lose big, big difference beating HBCU programs and Pac-12 teams.

Not sure it is even possible for the NCAA to level recruiting violations anymore but my guess is if there is a way, Coach Prime will be the first to find it.

listen to the whole thing. He said "if" you aren't willing to bring the three things he expects, meaning his way or the highway. He's making a statement about expectations based on the fans, students and alum deserving better.

No what he said was he had already identified guys that would be run off, including guys who were injured. Whether you want to work hard is irrelevant - if he has somebody better they comin. And if they comin then you goin.

Sadly this is where we are heading in NCAACF. I don’t like it anymore than most of you but it’s an NFL lite future. The game as we knew it died already.

I see him 100% turning the tables on Lincoln Riley and his free agent roster. This is just a plain ugly look for college football. The coaching ranks are about to transition to con men and washed up ex-NFL guys who know what it’s like to pick up a free agent and run some tryouts every week and try to get a guy to plug a hole for a month or two. Pretty soon college football will have an injured reserve list similar to what Saban used to do with his “medical redshirt” guys he would run off as soon as he signed a replacement for and over sign by 10-15 scholarships. Disgusting.

Listen to the whole video, not just a sound bite. I have no issue with what he told them after listening to all of it.

I watched the whole speech (someone posted it in another

thread). Deon was pretty much telling these guys that the days of accepting losing as "ho hum" are over. He was also putting them on notice that anyone who is not willing to work and give max effort will be booted from the team. He made the point it's not fair to the other team members who work their butts off to have slackers on the team dragging them down. Told the players he planned to use the off season practices to sort out who really wants to be there from those who don't.
Even though I'm not a big fan of Deon's typical flashy style, he's taking a brutally honesty approach that is probably needed in a program that has gotten comfortable with losing for most of the past 20 years.

Brutal honesty is how you run a business, CFB is now a business. I’m thankful to be old enough to remember how it was
