Should DW4 participate in the Senior Bowl?

Jan 13, 2017, 9:41 AM

My opinion...there's no upside potential. The natty game showed everyone what he's capable of and in back-to-back years he's destroyed Bama.

Heck no. He has nothing left to prove

Jan 13, 2017, 9:44 AM

and he doesn't need to take any chance of getting injured before the draft.

Absolutely 100% no

Jan 13, 2017, 9:44 AM

There is zero for him to gain.

Nope. If people want to pass on him after that national championship performance then it will be their loss and they will dearly regret it

Agree. Absolutely not. Stand on what you've done and defy anybody to knock it down.

Refuse to play this stupid scout's game where they can all pick away at you while guys like Mitch Trubisky (who has done nothing) get free passes even when they can't beat freakin' Duke and make some front office with balls actually decide they're willing to invest in you. You might get bypassed by the Cleveland Browns and suchlike the first few picks...but then, that's why Cleveland is Cleveland and their stadium is called the Factory of Sadness.

I wouldn't go near that thing, if I was Deshaun. As of right now you're a Top-15 pick at the absolute worst because somebody will decide what you actually accomplished in college warrants it. If you play the scouts' game they'll likely ruin your draft stock.

When did they start allowing Juniors to play in the Senior bowl? It wasn't that long ago that you had to be a Senior to participate in any of the Senior classic games. By no means if he's allowed to participate should he. It will not prove anything to anyone. Seeing as he has destroyed the best defenses money can buy 2 years in a row at Bama. Go Tigers.

I think I saw something when he was invited that he was allowed to play because he already had his degree.

He's a college graduate with a 4-year degree.***

From a excerpt I found on the topic of Watson the Junior

Jan 13, 2017, 10:16 AM [ in reply to Re: Should DW4 participate in the Senior Bowl? ]

Watson is in a unique position, believed to be the only true junior ever to receive a bid to the game that, by its very name, would figure to exclude him. He studied his way into that position by earning his degree from Clemson in just three years. For several years, the Senior Bowl has opened its doors to a select number of fourth-year juniors who have already earned degrees. Watson, however, would be the first true junior to participate.

"The degree in hand is the bottom line," Savage said.

I think he should. Surely the "spread system to NFL system" questions will be there like always with guys like Watson. It would be different if everyone had him going top 5 but a lot of idiots out there project him much lower, so he can improve his stock as he gets a chance to work under NFL coaches. I have no doubt he can run whatever system is out there as I'm sure he knows he can and proving that in the Senior Bowl would silence much of the doubt folks might have.

Why not? Just one more way to showcase himself. I don't think blitzing is allowed in this game so probably would not even get hit

DW4 participate in the Senior Bowl?

Jan 13, 2017, 10:37 AM

Questions to answer before he commits:

1. Has he declared officially for the NFL draft?
2. Has he signed with an agent?
3. Is there a possibility of a 4th year at Clemson?
4. Does he have anything to prove, except having the experience to participate.
