Name some fake TV heroes who helped make you the person you are today.

When I was a kid, things seemed to be more simple than for today's kids. At home, in the churches, in the schools, in the town, and in the country --> the messages our tiny brains received was based on good is a better choice than evil.
We all liked "Ike". Our parents (and the USA) had just sacrificed and saved the entire World.
Two channel TV, newspapers, and books were what we had to shape our view of the outside world. We were protected from nudity, profanity, and views of blood/gore.
Books and TV shows about guys like Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone, and Kit Carson showed us the way. George Washington even admitted to falling astray as a youth and chopping down that cherry tree. Good examples were about.
Nice ladies came to school and even to Scout meetings to teach us Temperance. How many acted in roles in their little plays? I did. How many were in things like Scouts or Royal Ambassadors? I was.
In school (not just Sunday school) we were taught as to guys like Moses, Jesus, David, etc. We all learned early on to tell the difference in what was right and what was wrong.
The brother of my 7th grade teacher dealt with bad guys like John Dillinger. Mrs Davidson told us many great tales of the guy.
We had a "black hat" TV hero who kinda "went his own way", but always for good --> Clay Alexander, better know as 'Paladin'.
So what went wrong?

Nope. My mother, stepfather, and the countless WW2 vets I read about in stacks of books I hauled home from the library.

An obscure Fleetwood Mac album from just before Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham joined up.
And the rest, as they say, is history.

As I am very old, have way over a thousand in very good condition. I still play mine. I have assembled a high end turntable. The CD market is less and the LP market is expanding. The deal is a LP can sound better if you have decent gear and most important - a record cleaning machine.

I am gonna go with either alf, or Doogie Howser MD.I liked Alf because spoke his mind and hated cats. He did not GAF about what Willie Tanner thought, he was living in the garage rent-free.
after that, it would be Doogie Howser. I skipped a grade and landed at Clemson a lot younger than most folk. That, on top of being a late bloomer, it was my nickname in college until I lived with some frat boys who gave me a different one.
