Here's one for you older Tigers....like myself

Dec 12, 2012, 9:58 AM

Who remembers the All American presentations Bob Hope did as part of his Christmas Special?

Bonus point - What uniform issue did Terry Kinard have during the show? Unfortuately, not sure if it was the 81 or 82 show.

I miss the old days....

Remember those shows well. If I'm not mistaken, Kinard had to wear a borrowed jersey and helmet as well. May be crazy, but the helmet was a "Hutch" youth helmet.

Bob Hope did a show at Clemson in 1983. There are probably some guys on here who were there for it.

The First Tiger I Remember Being on The Hope

Dec 12, 2012, 10:31 AM

All American Show was right guard Harry Olszewski either 1966 or 67. The 83 Hope campus show was great. I remember him giving Strom Thurmond , who was there, some great one liners, especially about being married to a young Nancy Thurmond.

I remember all of this very well. We need more Harry O's and Mass type players. They played in 1967 btw. I still have the program from the Bob Hope show.

Unfortunately, I also remember the 1957 Sugar Bowl against LSU who had a Heisman Trophy winner on the squad. We held their 'Mr. Football' in check that day but lost 7 - 0 on a bad snap of a punt.

I do remember that when William Perry came out for the Bob Hope show that it was one of the most amazing moments.

Bob Hope asked Fridge "Did the bus come in you?"

At about the 14 minute mark right after Reggie White; Terry Kinard at about 5:20.
Alot of great players on there.
