Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.

That is pretty whack. Not her state, so visiting and calling for further agitation like that in the position she's in is bad news. She deserves an official censure and something akin to the stripping or curtailing of committee assignments that Taylor-Greene went through. It should go both ways, and this certainly qualifies considering the circumstances at hand.

She should.

There's this "oath of office" thing some of our elected officials seem to be struggling with.

You can uphold the laws and Constitution of the United States. Or you can be an agitator and lead people in the streets. But you cannot be both. Freaking decide already.

Supporting his impeachment can be taken seriously if they don’t now call for Waters’ impeachment as well.

LOL all you want, but if you were not there, which you were not, then all you are doing is reciting your echo chamber material.

Do you agree with Swarley? What he said is right on.

I don't think either case falls under the legal

Apr 20, 2021, 8:00 AM [ in reply to I don’t see how anyone condemning Trump for inciting a riot and ]

standard for inciting a riot, based on what I've read.

I did support impeachment of the President, but, for me, it wasn't really about vague calls for violence. My view was larger...about him undermining the results of a free election and sowing discontent through falsehoods. I thought that behavior was the most damaging to the nation of any behavior I can remember seeing from a President.

Rep. Waters says and does almost nothing I agree with. I think she's wrong in what she said in this case. I personally don't think it's up to the standard of removing someone from office, but I don't really have a dog in the hunt. It is irrelevant to me whether she is in office, so my opinion is not a strong one.

Sounds like you are saying "Ehh, because she always does this, it's not a big deal"

What she said, where she said it, how she said it, and what she was wearing while she said it are all 100x worse than Trump.

Get real.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, that's not what I said. Please read again.

Apr 20, 2021, 10:14 AM

I specifically said that the reason I don't support impeachment is because I don't think the statement is severe or bad enough. It's not that important to me because she is not my representative.

I said what I did about never agreeing with her so it was clear that my position wasn't some kind of partisan thing. She's pretty much the opposite of me in terms of politics.

good luck getting an appeal on something a congresswoman said. Meanwhile, enjoy the free buttsex, Derek.

Here's exactly what he said.

Apr 20, 2021, 10:46 AM

"I wish elected officials would stop talking about this case, especially in a manner that is disrespectful to the rule of law and to the judicial branch and our function," Cahill added later. "I think if they want to give their opinions, they should do so in a respectful and in a manner that is consistent with their oath to the Constitution, to respect a coequal branch of government."

"Their failure to do so, I think, is abhorrent, but I don't think it's prejudiced us with additional material that would prejudice this jury," he said, adding that "a congresswoman's opinion really doesn't matter a whole lot."
