HEre is my only issue with the Game Last Night.

So we whooped up on ND for 3.3 qtrs, but at 9 min left in the game we switch to a soft safe offense. I understand the rain situation and you want to take care of the ball. I feel like you have to make something happen at 9 min left. I know the defense was crazy tired do to the fact we ran the ball 3 times in a row and they knew what was coming, so offense was barely on the field in the 4th qtr. Offensive play calls in the 4th were horrible. Also why does the defense change their strategy at that time. We need to knuckle up there and get after it not give them 20 yard runs and throws, that will gash you every time. 5 min left go ahead and play that soft zone d, but not 9 when you know as an offense they can score a bunch in a hurry. That game should have never been in question. Just my two cents.

got tired and ND finally figured out how to exploit us. With so much time in the pocket they could draw our DBs away and let those slow crossing routes develop over the middle where they had fast players like Procise matched up on slow LBs that couldn't cover them.

I am sorry you feel as though i shouldn't say anything, but this is a forum to talk about Clemson Football which I love. If I feel like they played it too safe with 9 min left in the game, its probably because they gave up 19 points in 9 min. Not very good plan in the 4th qtr as far as im concerned. Weather conditions were not ideal but were manageable. Playing safe against a team that can score points in a hurry isn't smart to me. This is completely my opinion, which i think is a valid argument.

jches: I was there and no I don't get it why they went to the "prevent" defense which only does one thing----it prevents you from winning in many, many games Second, We did not need to continually run between the tackles in the fourth quarter. Third where was a fresh back on some of those runs.
We went into our shell and kit nearly cost us the game.

AMEN BROTHER. YOU NAILED IT. ALMOST COST US THE GAME IN MY OPINION. BUT WHAT DO I KNOW. WE WON BOTTOM LINE. BUT COULD HAVE EASILY LOST US THE GAME LIKE YOU SAY.

Valid thought, but our coaches had the guys ready to play. Think back to 2000 whatever...we would have flamed out on the first quarter kickoff. I am just going to work and talk sh!t like the fourth quarter was part of the grand plan.

Well your right ...that score was not an indicator of how well we beat them..but iv said this on here and gotten flamed, our pash rush is the worst iv seen it in a while...we get absolutely no rush without bringing a couple extra guys and even then he had plenty of time....I love our run def so I guess you give and take but our pass rush has to get better....as far as the offense I was happy given the conditions...I wasn't crazy about the 1 down int but if that's completed he's a genius. I still think the off has some work to do....at some point they are gonna have to score a lot of points to win a game

I do think the ND has one of the best lines i have seen pass block wise, there run Block was ok at best.

Bad. A great ND defense. There weren't many good options under those circumstances.
A dry day. A healthy Mike Williams. ... The play calling may have been different.
Enjoy the win. Leave the nit-picking to the coaching staff.
I was there in the miserable pouring rain and didn't have any second guessing thoughts.
