Hearn is gone

so is Crowder and Morris. I'd like to think Hyatt returns. Last night he struggled against a very good Dline.
I think our offensive line next season will be a lot more versatile and actually more athletic that what we've had currently. Morris was always a project, Crowder was always overweight, not conditioned, and struggled in pass protection. Hearn had a solid year, but it was mainly because he is a road grader and this season we were primarily a run team.
so what does our O-Line look like next season?
LT--Hyatt (I think he returns) LG--John Simpson (he was a 4* and has showed promise the last 2 seasons) C- Falcinelli (solid season taking over for Jay G, last nights snaps were a little low, but overall good player) RG--Pollard (this will probably be where he excels) RT--Jackson Carmen ( don't @ me)
This O-Line looks solid and we should have a good unit.
D-Line losses: Bryant prob gone, Wilkins gone. I'm still holding out hope that Ferrell returns to get his degree like he hinted at earlier in the season.
What I think the line looks like 2 deep:
DE--Ferrell (please, please, please come back), Yeargin (prob overly optimistic), Kelly DT-- Dex and Pinckney DT--Huggins and Robinson we have solid guys with tons of experience coming back at DT. I think Darnell Jefferies fights for PT. DE--X. Thomas (starting day 1), Logan Rudolph, Justin Foster
I think we return a solid group on both lines of scrimmages which as we can see with Bama and UGA is exactly what you need. We'll be fine and I think our WR and DBs will be best in the nation next season. We have so much experience returning

This year was our 2014 all over again...

Great D, young O with no downfield attack.
Next year we'll take a small step back on D, but a giant leap forward on O.
The beautiful things is we went 10-3 in 2014. Our rebuilding years now are 12-2 w/ a playoff appearance.

Carman definitely at one of the Guard spots because hes awful on the edge...
Our RBs need to block better period...that’s the one thing that Gallman did so exceptionally well.
And the QB competition needs to be open minded and fair...there were quite a few times KB should have simply stepped up in the pocket but he took off because he has no pocket awareness.
Lastly....fck Alabama.

yea Dabo was giving it to Streeter and Kelly B

last night
He was right though. Kelly needed to step up and throw it and not look to run. Kelly B. had a good season though and i'm thankful for what he gave us this season, but Trevor Lawrence to me is a once in a generation player and will fight to be the guy.

Is Carmen really awful on the edge.
I've not seen anything to suggest that. I know his power could lend itself to playing RT or guard well though.

Okay. It's weird though because he's definitely struggled this year but last year he more or less had Tim Williams in his pocket for 95 plays.

was with ya till you made the comment about "Bama, their fans are a class act, their program is a standard we are on oar with no need to make comments about the, Clemson beat Clemson last night, we had our chances we did not take them. offense was completely off the track and they had speed on the edges we did not have. D did a great job last night.

I hope our WR improve and our QB can throw a fwd pass past the defense line backers and we learn to also try something besides a bubble pass or running up the middle. Pitch out maybe?

Long way to go before you can pencil in starters at O-Line or D-Line (these are two positions where maturity is key to success as opposed to skill positions where raw talent can prevail). Some big body players redshirted this year and you hope with the season and offseason to mature physically and mentally, one of these young guys will step up. One of the biggest replacements out on Defense will be for Dorian O'Daniel. I'm going to guess that's a perfect spot for I. Simmons. He has the size and the speed to play the run as well the pass.
I think Clemson in good shape at QB, RB, WR, LB and DB.
D-Line & O-Line are the biggest question marks as they head into Spring/Summer.
No doubt that Dabo and the staff will have them ready come September.
One loss in the CFB Playoff semifinal will not define this program and based on the things Clemson has done to build this program for success...I don't think it's outlandish to say "The Best is Yet to Come!"

DOD is going to be missed
Jan 2, 2018, 3:26 PM

I'll be worried about LB if Joseph leaves early. Haven't seen anything to suggest he does leave, but if he does I'll worry.
But at LB:
SLB: we replace DOD and I think Simmons would be a good replacement but he isn't anywhere near as disciplined as DOD. Baylon Spector could also be a name to watch here.
MLB: Tre Lamar and hopefully he stays healthy. Je. Davis exceeded expectations but he isn't Tre Lamar and honestly I don't think there is anybody in the nation that matches Lamar.
WLB: Joseph (as long as he returns), if not then Skalski is the man. and hopefuly the lightbulb goes off for Shaq Smith.
I like the depth we have but I worry about losing two starters from a position that requires so much in a Brent Venables defense.

basic same story about our line every year. The team as a whole will be better because Feaster and ETN will improve and one way or the other we'll be better at QB. However, just not sure on the line

I agree with this statement, eventually the O-Line needs to start churning out some studs. Clemson has gotten 4-5 star guys but are they getting the development through coaching as they should or are they max'd out talent wise when they get to Clemson. There are a few in the 2017 and 2018 class that will be the tell tale. Our O-line has been more than good enough on a week in week out basis during the regular season, but when you play a top ranked D-Line, they shouldn't look like swiss cheese.

It will be interesting to how many snaps Dehond and Bockhorst get next year also.

Somewhere in the 2 deep you will also have

Bockhorst (who I think is going to end up being a great interior linemen for us) Vinson and Dehond. All of these guys red-shirted off of the line this year. Bockhorst and Vinson are recuperating from injuries (though Vinson was able to practice this Fall some). And Dehond was just a huge raw monster that needed refinement (based solely on his recruitment tape). I think that if Bockhorst can take over one of the guard spots along with Simpson, and Vinson/Dehond can man the right tackle position and move Pollard/Anchrum inside as the backups or starters, keeping Falci and Cervenka at center, this will leave Jack to backup Hyatt at LT. In my mind this would be ideal. But, I am not Coach Caldwell and know nothing about the individual players or D1 coaching.

I think Dehond will be a great lineman for us, he has that mean streak that is great for a olineman.
