Herbie has a son on the team and likely knows what he is talking about. The real USC might have approached Dabo, but he is too smart to trade living in Clemson for living in LA.

This doesn’t surprise me at all. I’ve heard several SC fans say, they want to create a west coast Clemson. Appreciate the goal they set for themselves, and it’s flattering. But like I tell ‘em, if only it were that simple. Money glitz and glam don’t buy what’s in those hills.
I give SC credit for trying, it’s just a horrible idea irl and one that from Dabo’s perspective, is only marginally better than that Raiders job he just interviewed for. /s

except it would be even more of a fish out of water scenario. Dabo's "aw shucks" and outward profession of Christian faith would not go so well in LA where the school system and entire state is considerably left of the rest of America.
