Taisun has enough ability to help the Bees. Hope he doesn't help them too much against US!

Riding the Jacket bench nice for him. Instead of bench of Clemson’s next National Champions. DJ will ride bench behind Cade and the Hunters

He won't be the starter.

Doesn't run or pass well enough. So-so at both, excels at neither.

But. But. Every one wanted him to start last year. Now he’s not good enough. Funny how the coaches know ????

The difference is that while Taisun isn't great, DJ was the second worst QB in the entire country last year and the worst Clemson QB in history compared to the other QBs of the year. Lets Compare that to Jeff Sims:

DJU Sims
Rating 108.7 139.3
Accuracy 55.6 60.1
YPA 5.3 7.8
YPG 173 210
TDs 9 12
Interceptions 10 7
Rushing Yards 308 372
Rushing TDs 4 4

So Sims was better in literally every single stat, despite playing half as many games as DJ. This is with a substantially identical schedule and a far less talented supporting cast.

So as you can see, it's really easy for Puma to be better than DJ but not good enough to start for the Yellow Jackets. Bad take.

DJ was the best we had.

Clemson always puts the best players on the field at every position.

The coaches felt starting TP wasn't a viable option, and it would have spelled more losses.

You think we go better than 10-3 and #14 with TP being the starter? The coaches didn't. They're there every day watching every snap.

After the most successful period (by far) in Clemson history, you're questioning coaches decisions for starters? That's all well and good I guess, but let's be realistic.

Now there are no Tigers left in the portal. Good luck T.P. See you September 5th and hope you survive if you play against the starting D.

he’ll be wishing he had a “yellow jersey” (no contact jersey) on come Sept 5th . . . It’ll be the first time he’s ever been hit by a Tiger . . . he’ll have a new appreciation for our Defense before the game is over.

Best wishes Taison

Poor guy is going to regret that decision come 05 Sep. I wish him nothing but the best, but not a good look going to their first opponent. But I guess he wants to show the world he's a better QB than DJU, so he will have his chance.

Regardless where he will end up on the depth chart, I have a feeling multiple QBs will be playing on that day in ATL. Breese hasn't even practiced in the spring since he's been here. Dabo doesn't even play our 1st team DL vs the 1st team OL b/c it isn't fair. Murphy, Bresee, Davis, & Henry/Thomas is insance and I think will have a better year than the Power Rangers. Tough to top Dex and CW, but I think Bresee and Davis just might.

He had a nice home but he didn't like it. I would be surprised if play for GT will be a better experience for him.

Good luck Taisun.

Interesting twist this is the second year in a row where we will be facing a former Tiger in our opening game after they transferred to a school in Georgia.

Will he start for Ga Tech? Hope so. If not, why transfer?

I haven’t paid much attention.

Is the GaTech QB position pretty wide open for the coming season?

Idk if he'll be opening day starter but this could be a future positioning play.

They have Sims still but he hasn't improved much since Freshman year when he made some noise.

TP7 may actually be a better passer than Sims so it'll be interesting if TP7 rolls in and takes the job but my guess offhand is he's probably setting himself up to try and challenge for the job next year -- Best of luck!

Sims is a better atm than any guy we have on roster (until Cade shows otherwise, he's young). His stats were better than DJ playing half as many games.

Hmm, I bet he does not want to be starter in first game

I wonder if they saw him sitting in the portal and threw him a last minute bone to get our playbook for the opener

TP may not have been better than DJ but he was certainly his equal and should have received more time on the field IF he was healthy enough to play. Clemson just DID NOT have a quarterback last season capable of playing and winning big games. I honestly did not see a great improvement in the spring game but it isn’t fair to judge any player in games played with the “relaxed” rules of spring games. Ten wins last year says a LOT about the Tiger coaching staff and the guys who never quit on us!.

I will still follow the career of TP. He may get the last laugh.

He’s a talented guy and could get some playing time at GT…..he also has our playbook. He was having a good game against UCONN last year before he pulled up lame.
