Arik Gilbert

Jun 2, 2021, 12:27 PM

Word on the street is he won't be academically eligible to play. Anyone else hearing this?

But, UGA is academically ranked higher than Clemson.

Both are outstanding academically, however.

I went to UGA and hated it because it has become so liberal and elite and I would recommend Clemson for any high school student because Clemson is not so crazy liberal

Maybe it's just me, but...

I think most colleges now-a-days are inherently liberal (at least the professors).

Gents, let's not turn this into a liberal vs conservative issue.

I am just asking about issues with his playing.

The word is...

Jun 2, 2021, 12:51 PM

he was academically ineligible at both LSU and Florida. Of course, that's just the word.

If true, it is something UGa will have to address. Most schools have a pretty strict policy on accepting transfers with a GPA below a 2.0. This is likely why Florida either wouldn't or couldn't take him.

If he is able to actually enroll at UGa, they'll likely find him a couple of cupcake GPA boosting on-line courses (something all schools offer) that someone will either "help" him with if not actually do the work for him, so he'll be eligible come September.

and embracing some disturbing conglomeration of Marxism and Fascism.

Liberals were tolerant of ideas that they did not like.

He was ineligible at both LSU and Florida

Jun 2, 2021, 12:37 PM

Apparently he had to reach a 2.0 gpa at Florida but couldn't. I think at LSU he was going to have to take some extra course work in order to be able to play and that's when he originally decided to leave there. This is all just stuff I've heard second hand so take it with a grain of slaw. I'm sure UGA will do everything in their power to get him eligible. Fake grades and all.

This guy has a chance to be a generational talent IMO...

Would be sad if academics kept him from playing.

Good fit for the SEC.
