Maybe OU gets him a sweet NIL deal and then buries him on the bench just out of spite.
I know they wouldn't do it but it's a thought.

Would have thought Coach V would have told the boy to "go pound sand."
Wow, was I wrong!
OU sucking up to this player is an embarrassment to Sooner Nation and the entire state of Oklahoma!!!

Why does it take a coach AND an AD to respond.

He only has OU by the balls because OU is kowtowing to his

actions. Best thing OU could do is wish him well and move on. Say this kid does comes back to OU after they find him some more NIL money - what then? Will the coaches ever really trust him not to pull this garbage again?
To me, Williams is damaged goods as it is obvious his family is pushing him to go elsewhere in search of NIL money - don't buy that "best prepare me for the NFL" BS... Any kid who is the designated starter on a big boy football, that has a record of putting QB's in the pros and having a shot at the playoffs every year ain't leaving because he is worried about making it to the NFL. Nope - he's leaving because some folks have gotten in his ear and are whispering "chase the money now" at the expense of everything else.

There's Oil In Them Durr Hills - in Oklahoma

Some of that oil money will probably find it's way to the Williams account and he will announce "i'm staying with my brothers" or something cheesy! When everyone knows what's up!
SMH - again! NIL is good for the athlete if they have done something in college football. Some unintended bad things can and is also happening to many college athletes as well as a result of this plus the portal. The folks who say: "ya'll are too old school won't acknowledge the fact there are kids being told lies in order for them to leave school(another form of negative recruiting) but b/c nothing is in writing - they end up with no school"! Next thing you know; they having to walk on somewhere. That promise maker did their job because they weakened a rivals roster(depth). They don't care what happens to the kid after. Had that same kid stayed they could have completed their degree; which they could have for the rest of their life. The average NFL career is 3.5 years and that's not at the highest pay scale more than likely.
Kids went from being exploited so it's been said! To now, they are being "pawned" in this game of make my roster strong and other rosters weak! Look at the number of kids who enter the portal without schools!

Completely Disagree

Caleb Williams is leaving OU. He's had enough time to figure out what's going on there and already knows he doesn't want it. My guess is he's already decided on USC but will pretend as if there are 2-3 schools under consideration.
The only reason he's pretending OU remains in the game is to reduce the pressure a little and avoid scathing criticism, for now.
Better to let everyone gradually realize what will happen than announce it in one explosive moment.

I think you're correct that he will go to USC. I understand there is a process to the portal, but most of these guys sure do make up their minds in a hurry, like a day or two. Almost as if they were recruited or already had a deal in place. And yeah, Lincoln would TOTALLY do that as he has proven to be a snake in the grass who knew they would be an also ran in the SEC and promptly bailed. That said I think he will absolutely turn USC back into a power, especially if he can find a decent DC for a change to give them SOME balance.

Didn't take long for OU and BV to get a replacement.

Yeah I’m disappointed in BV. He should have told him goodbye and good riddance. Bad precedent being set
