generational QB like TL waiting on the bench. He saw how well it worked when we needed to replace KB, and it would certainly help our game this year. Not having a once in a lifetime QB as a backup just seems like weak coaching to me.

Maybe because he thought he had once starting in DJ?

No one thought DJ would have these issues after the way he performed last year at ND, etc.

I agree, he got lazy and did not space them over the season.

to think that DJ would be a top-notch QB taking over for TL. It's just turned out that DJ's been a bust.

Spring practice, if not sooner.
All the coaches had to know how bad this offense was in Spring practice. You can't do much at that point, but you can do something. Try something. It was not just going to fix itself between April and September. If they didn't know how bad the offense was, then I give them too much credit in assessing play.

DJU was the #1 rated QB in the nation out of high school.
Kid the won state championships, had offers to every D1 school in the nation, could throw a ball further (as a freshman) than Justin Fields could as a senior.
The kid had every bit of talent and star potential coming out of HS.....THAT aspect of this season isn't on the coaches. That's on DJ.

Mine bought me a banana split. That made me like sweets and made me fat. Why would they do that to me?

Your post had me rolling. Very funny.
However, I think that DJU is a generational talent. Kids with his physical tools don't come around often and his heralded position as the next great QB has been justifiable up until these last few games. It is very hard to dissect the exact reason for the perceived drop-off. He is still a talented player. It has been very clear that the chemistry and timing with the WRs and TEs has been down.
Other than 2018 with Deon Cain and Ray Ray McCloud taken in the 6th round, last year marked the first time we had 2 WRs taken in the draft since Sammy Watkins and Martavis Bryant went fourth overall and in the fourth round back in 2014. Rodgers and Powell were taken in the 3rd and 5th round. Clemson has been WRU for the last decade but its not a stretch to say that the WR experience, craftiness, and possibly talent were higher last year than this year.
I have never been much for analyzing the intricacies of the OL but the general consensus seems to be that our youth and lack of development is hindering success in the trenches.

Tell me: Did you set up your brilliant post by consipiring with TigerBob and Tugaloo (who you got to agree would provide their equally hilarious responses)?
Great work ... thanks for the laughs!

Ok who would that "generational QB" be? We just snap our fingers and QB's just come to Clemson? Who do you think would have come to Clemson if offered in the "generational" category?
