I can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is, but he's right up there with Ryan Day & Urban Meyer for me as coaches who are 100% ###### bags.
I hope we stomp a mudhole on their team Saturday night and walk it dry in the middle of a Hurricane.

... can seem very similar. However, one is rooted in frustration (often seen as arrogance) and the other is rooted in confidence (also seen as arrogance.) I'm sure Doeren is a fine husband, father, leader and coach. But I do NOT think he's over-confident. Nothing his team has achieved to this point would lend any credence to that attitude.

Putting Ryan Day and Urban Myer in the same category shows your arrogance.
Off the field does far more than most coaches to protect his players. His foundations for Mental Health are doing great things for student athletes.

but I have no problem comparing how him how he carries himself to the media (in very similar fashion) to Urban Meyer and Ryan Day, especially leading up to and after games.
I'm not going to debate whether an observation is "arrogant" or not as I know I'm far from alone on that observation.

My youngest two kids went/go to State. Doeren has always had a foul personality. Just not likable. He has been on the bubble to be fired several times, but will win the game he had to to keep his job. Either he has good recruiters or is horrible in front of cameras, because they do get good recruits in spite of his public personality.
I recall watching one of our nattys. We had the coaches channel on one TV and we replayed the last play with Hunter catching the short out. All the other coaches showed some emotion and seemed happy Clemson beat Bama. Doeren was the only one that looked somber and said nothing.
