Dabo Swinney wanted to be a pediatrician, not a head coach

Dabo Swinney’s life ambition was to take care of children and young people, but he wanted to do it in a doctor’s office. Instead, he’s doing it on the football field.

And now he makes more than 30 times what he’d be making as a pediatrician.***

For most of us, life is an odyssey. Hopefully, we'll land at some friendly shore at the end.

He deals with bigger babies when he faces the wuffies and the bucknuts...

Give lil’ Davey and Ryan lollipops next time you see them, Coach. It might help with the booboos they’re about to receive on their egos.

A math teacher friend of mine actually quit teaching to become a doctor. Now he is making 100x what I make now.

Just do what you were made to do and you never really work your whole life because you enjoy it. I want to be Clemson’s next basketball coach, ride or die!

We all need a Dabo in our lives. I wish I had had a friend like Dabo growing up, and even now. Dabo would make a great "Life Coach". An hour or two with Dabo would humble and inspire anyone.

As a kid, we were all looking for mentors. Political figures and sports heroes were obvious choices. I'm very disillusioned with politicians now. And so many sports figures are lacking good moral character. Kids these days have an obvious choice for mentor or role model in Dabo. And his players are not far off the mark, as I continue to be impressed with Hunter Renfrow.

Go Tigers! I am so glad that Dabo is our football coach! I've been impressed with him since his first homecoming as a head coach when he wandered around the homecoming floats on a Thursday night (I think) and talked to all the students. That was impressive and showed me a lot about who Dabo was as a person.

Dabo, I'll gladly trade places***
