Hayes v. Bauman - anyone know the story behind this....

On the Wikipedia entry for Woody Hayes, it says:

"About two months after the incident, Hayes called Bauman in his dorm room but did not apologize for hitting him."

There is no citation for the statement. Does anyone know what the story is? Why would he call if not to apologize?

That is true. I was at the game and you could not see what was going on and we did not know about it until after the game and some Ohio State fans told us that Woody Hays had been fired. We would meet Charlie's dad when he was driving down from New Jersey at the gas station when we both filled up. He was a likeable guy and you can see where Charlie got his demeanor from.
