I looked up his year by year. Cliff Ellis went from Dabo Swinney kind of early on, because he went
26-9 in 89-90. The next year he went Tommy West with 11-17 record

We either hire a Barnes or a Purnell who gets poached by a school that will invest in basketball, or we'll slog it out with a mediocre or subpar coach.

At LJ, but has much changed with the student section and location? I remember one of the big beefs was how we don't let students really dominate the floor while the upper crust that sits on their butts and doesn't show up to half the games dominates the lower seats.
I admittedly don't follow Clemson basketball as much as a good alum should. Unless it's a big game, LJ has always seemed pretty dull compared to a lot of other programs. I dunno. I think we're all just too committed to football. College basketball is too frustrating to watch, anyway. The calls are too subjective and it's been too Tobacco Road dirty in the ACC for years.

There was never a more fun time for Clemson basketball than attending during those Barnes years with Buckner, Boogie, Big O, etc. Such a fun team to watch and LJ was always rocking. For me, that was freshman and sophomore years.

While it was fun watching Sharone Wright just punk some fools, Barnes took it next level when it came to fan involvement. I don't think people understand the extent of the camp-outs that occurred for tickets for games like Duke, and Barnes was totally cool, going around the grounds outside littlejohn and bringing people pizzas to their tents. It really was a fun scene.

Is it palace for player facilities? That's obviously a huge factor. It doesn't look that special in the pics. Then again, I don't know what the player facilities are like at the top schools.
