What is the one unpredictable, extraordinarily powerful—even scary—factor in a rivalry like this: Momentum. There is so much history at stake, not to mention the fact that you can have a disappointing season, but if you win this game, all is forgiven. And there is so much emotion, both in the stands and on the field. (Not to mention the behavior of those of us with the TV remote. When we play the chickens, my wife and children always go to a movie and then get a milkshake, hoping that by the time they get home, all the yelling at the TV will be over.) The big thing we have to avoid this Saturday is letting the chickens get momentum. That can turn around a game in a heartbeat. It can be so powerful that once the other team has it, things snowball. (Just ask the Vols.) You can argue that when, just five minutes into the game, Notre Dame blocked that punt and scored, the momentum swung their way and we never recovered. We cannot let something like that happen on Saturday. Not just on a fumble or a pick, but also on a Spencer Rattler TD bomb on the second play of the game. The Big Mo has to be ours for the entire game. Go Tiguhs!

The Coots took advantage of a very very very poor Tennessee pass defense. Currently ranked 130th in the nation it's no wonder they got crushed in the passing game by the Coots who only rank 46th in pass offense. Not sure why other teams in the SEC haven't taken advantage of Tennessee's poor pass defense. Don't get took wrapped around the axle on this game. The Clemson defense (18th in the nation) is much better that Tennessee's defense (100th in the nation). Carolina's rush defense is horrible at 110th in the country and their pass defense is average at 43rd in the country. The Tigers will control both sides of the line of scrimmage and this game will not be close. I don't care if it is a rivalry game, Clemson is the home team here and that will make a big difference. It will be loud. Vegas has the spread at +16. I have it at +28. South Carolina 16 Clemson 44.
