I wonder if it is why we are not hearing much about the ACC adding teams. If the ACC opens the door, maybe the fear is more would exit than enter.

I don't think the GoR impacts the ACC reaching out to add teams. I just don't understand why we don't hear anything about additions. Rumor has it the BIG12 is talking about adding Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, and Colorado. The ACC better get their a$$ in gear or there won't be any teams worth adding. Right now the ACC needs to be talking to Cincinatti, Ok St, Texas Tech, and West Virginia. Cinci brings in the Ohio market, Texas Tech and Ok St bring in Texas area, and West Virginia is a regional addition. Yes Stanford and Oregon would be nice but two teams out on an island too far away.

I am not so sure about that. I am no lawyer, but if the contract was for offering grant of rights with those current ACC members when signed, and then if the ACC were to add teams that caused those rights to become less valuable, and give ESPN the right to reduce the ACC's TV contract (per team), I would think it could possibly cause an opportunity to invalidate the original contract. The GOR is a contract among the teams that signed. Adding teams without the permission of the original GOR members agreeing to it, seemingly would not be valid.

Any team added to the ACC is required to sign off on the GOR.

That's not my point. The original GOR signers would have to agree to add teams to the GOR contract. Opening it back up might just be the escape route some are looking for.

It is not going to be a factor. The money we’re talking about in the future is so big no one cares about GOR.
It’s a contract. Contracts are written by lawyers. Lawyers write contracts, especially the more complicated they are, to ensure they get litigated. GOR will be fought for years in the courts. Ultimately there will be in a negotiated settlement, which will be significantly lower than whatever’s in a contract currently, and be paid out over years.
It will end up being like a mortgage. You buy a house today and pay interest because of the value of the asset in the future!
You need to look at going to the SEC as mortgaging our future! And yes I said the SEC because that’s the only thing that even remotely makes sense, it’s where we belong, it should’ve been us instead of South Carolina years ago! Anyone that thinks otherwise I’m sorry but you need to have your head examined.

The ACC will not be able to attract any top programs without a new TV deal. If the ACC can renegotiate to get a better deal. Will the current members be stupid enough to sign over their rights again? Some would bolt once the SEC or Big Ten came calling.

If I can get all 6 numbers on Mega Million I’ll win over $300 million. My odds are better than this scenario. Sorry

As I have said over and over, we need to add 4 including ND. Because the ACC is a basketball first conference, we need Kansas. We need either Baylor, TCU or Texas Tech to get into Texas. Stanford is a huge rival of Notre Dame in football and both men and women's basketball at Duke. I don't Oregon but maybe Colorado or Utah.

You keep posting ridiculous stuff. You must be young because older people know that the ACC has never ever done anything for Clemson. In fact is the exact opposite. And why would we want to stay in a basketball first conference? Other schools already use that against us in recruiting. Do you think our recruiting would continue in the top 10 even the top 20 when the SEC and the Big Ten are through and we’re not in them? Your people aren’t intelligent. You’re brainwashed or fixated on some ACC that’s never existed.

I got about as much chance of that as the ACC has of Notre Dame joining at this point.

We don’t have enough big Browns or enough teams to put quality games on TV week after week. FUNC, Virginia Tech, Miami, and Florida State or in the top 20 and in any way a threat to win the conference and a Darkhorse for the playoffs with Notre Dame and a couple other big-name schools, like Oregon, not Oklahoma state, not West Virginia, not any ridiculous names that people mentioned, maybe maybe the ACC might have a chance. But that is all years away and if we wait for that to happen it will be too late.
Driving dating life sports whatever it is the aggressor wins! Playing it cool. Being overly cautious. Sitting in waiting. That’s how you grow old and die!
When I read so many of the comments all I hear in my head is echoes from the past of buggy whip makers saying the horseless carriage is a fad. Of people scarfing at Elvis or the Beatles and saying that rock ‘n’ roll thing is a fad.
The NCAA did nothing for years. The ACC was always waiting. Look at where those two are now! The ACC is no longer in control. All I can hope is that Clemson and a few others don’t abandon ship.
The SEC and the Big Ten are playing for keeps! Everyone else is waiting to fight over the scraps.

I think ND has already not stayed with the ACC. That has been a big part of the issue for years.
