I nominate this as lazy POTD. A couple of years ago, we had a lockdown where the elite Libs decided recruits could not visit campus despite the low risk so it was very difficult to sell culture and family via video call. So yes we had a dip.

Development certainly has. ESPN showed a graphic earlier commenting how Clemson had the highest percentage of converting 5 stars into first round picks. That will certainly take a hit tonight w Bresee, Murphy, Simpson, and KJ still on the board. Not to mention number one 5 star DJU

Recruiting does not translate directly to draft position. Good post earlier this week on 5* percentage in draft. Clemson, while not having the raw numbers such as Bama, faired well percentage wise. Look every year at high draft picks and you will see unheralded former high school players on teams that are not powerhouses. Coaching is important but sometimes those kids have either plateaued in HS or they are still blossoming.

Clemson is one of just 5 total schools to have a first rounder 9 of the left 11 years. Something to chew on

It’s like on the 7th time in school history we’ve had 2 first rounders (most of which are under Dabo). Only 3 teams had more. We were tied for 4th with 1 other team having 2 picks.

Since when is 20 the the number? Last I checked we go by first round selections and we had two. Unless you are intentionally trying to joke around.
But if you want to really look at our recruiting and ##### whether or not we are slipping just go back and look and who we’ve brought in in the past and compare to recent classes. I think the only obvious area we’ve slipped is WR. No 5* since 2019 and Ngata was a bust. The rest of the 4* prospects have not planned out either. Antonio Williams seems to be the one bright spot going forward. We’ll see about the true Frosh.
Also no one needs to use Hunter Renfrow as an example. Finding him was like hitting the lottery and only buying one ticket. You can’t bank on finding those types on a regular bases. Landing top 200 players should be the goal.

Any unbiased, objective person would say do course it has.
It’s not bad by any means, but not at the level it used to be. And a lot of that is out of Clemson’s control.
