The kid is a true freshman who still needs to grow up both physically and mentally. Stepping on the field and contributing for teams like Clemson is a tough thing to do for a redshirt freshman, much less a kid who whose biggest worry was who to ask to the prom 6 months ago.

He's playing because the staff knows that we need depth all along the DL and they're hoping that he'll improve and be a contributor at least to spell guys later in the season. Him being on the field at all is more a function of our lack of depth at his position than it is about his 4* high school ranking.
