Has anyone noticed an increase in prices lately at the pump?

Mar 11, 2022, 8:49 AM

The price per gallon is higher than it used to be. And when you extrapolate that across the multiple gallons needed to make a sizable dent in your fuel tank, the effect really adds up quickly!!! It sneaks up on you. A $2 difference might not seem like much. But when you multiply that by another number (such as the total number of gallons needed to conduct your daily/weekly routine), it can be substantial!

I feel that there is an opportunity cost associated with paying more for gas as opposed to putting that towards other expenses. I saw a funny picture this morning with text over it that suggested that someone felt they would need to take out a second mortgage just to get to work! I think it was tongue in cheek, but you never can tell!

I'm glad it's Friday. But one thing is for sure - this won't be like most normal weekends in the past where gas wasn't quite as big of a concern. In fact, I believe that the gas prices could affect my activities this weekend, and that concerns me on a personal level.

The same applies to this summer. Can you imagine trying to go on a nice vacation or invest in home improvements with THESE prices? What a conundrum. It is so wild and interesting to me.

So anyway, just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on this. Please post your tips and dank memes below.

This is why we are developing a ride sharing app. It tracks people via GPS on their phones and pairs commuters by the routes they take to get to work, as WELL AS THEIR POLITCAL PARTY from data we got from facebook. We can also pair people based on other demographics we paid for, but I am going to keep this to myself. Let's just say our morning commutes are going to get a lot more fun AND we can stick it to the oil companies!!@

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oh wow, and you can request the ride from your phone?

Mar 11, 2022, 8:56 AM

That is crazy to me. Just think, 15 years ago people would have looked at you crazy for riding with strangers. LOL!

Not just strangers, but sexy strangers.

this will have a swipe right, swipe left feature. Just think Tinder and Uber combined. I have no doubts this will be a success, especially for bi curious evangelicals and queer folk.

I don't care if you are gay. I was stating that your post was gay. You know, what you think is a clever ruse...I think is gay.

If you see gayness in everything, the gayness is in you

Mar 11, 2022, 9:22 AM

but you already know that, lest you wouldn't have so much hate in ur black heart.

BACK to the topic at hand. What do you think about gas prices?

Not everything, just everything you say.

Gas prices will normalize once liberals stop using fossil fuels...Like they said they were going to do 40 years ago.

funny you mention

Mar 11, 2022, 10:00 AM

I am probably getting one of these when I get my partnership bonus in December, or more like ly the one after that, not sure.. Anyway, after My tax credit, it should come in around 56k which seems reasonable and affordable. it can go 0-60 in under 4 seconds, which means this liberal will Pwn the road, and the charging capacity and range make it the equivalent to paying 1.50 at the pump, assuming, I am not always pwning other motorists, then it is more like 1.75.

You would not like it though, it runs on electricity.

Nah, I'm gonna wait 2-3 yrs. for when the anti-gravity warp drive hyper portal car line comes out.

good point

Mar 11, 2022, 10:10 AM

yeah, the main reason I would wait is so these things can get a little better. But the Ford is impressive already, base model starts at about 36 after the credit, still goes 0-60 in 5.5.

I am all for anything that is a better product that is not forced upon me by hypocrites.

I do think it is funny that people get tax credits for EV's and also having children. Both on opposite ends of the climate change spectrum. Weird.

I work from home, drive an electric car (when I'm not riding my scooter to work), and live in an apartment complex maintained by the land lords. my cost of living hasn't been impacted too much.

the soy latte's at my local coffee shop (sustainably sourced, obvi) haven't gone above $6 yet, and my go-to vegan take out spots have remained fairly consistent.

it helps when you live your life in a manner not dependent on fossil fuels and ruining the planet.

If I need to run any long errands I just take the Metro. They've been great at forcing all these mouthbreathing republicans with their "Pro 2A" shirts coming to work their peasant construction jobs keep their masks on. I just hope their vaxxed. My neighbors' yorkie got the covid riding the train from these uneducated science deniers - I only hope my precious bischon-poo can stay healthy through this troubling time.

Is this post a joke? Seriously, sounds like stubby is being genuine, but hasn't everyone been talking about gas prices since, what a week ago, the average price hit an all time record high? And records have been set just about every day since.

Yeah for sure, $20 x 2 = $40 extra per tank. If you are a commuter using a tank a week, that's 40 x 52 = $2000/year gone. May as well have flushed it down the toilet.
