People have been critical of his cognitive issues for years. But you can throw out the entire CGD crew starting with Herbstreit and just leave Lee on there.

in 1963 while at Maryland. Long article. Some of it is kinda tough to read as a Clemson man.

even more difficult.

Yes, always unreal now how people of the South reacted to color in such cruel, alarming & disgrace ways.

I personally saw that Hill game at Clemson..and then later saw Harvey Gantt come out the back of Tillman Hall after enrolling and glad there was no trouble or negative or racist words uttered at Harvey.

Sat with him in First class on flight from Orlando to Atlanta in 2010 when he was flying to Auburn for Gameday against Clemson. I asked him who he was gonna pick and he said Auburn of course. We lost that game in OT if I recall correctly and it was when Jaimie Harper made that crazy catch in the EZ. Pretty sure Andre Ellington had a long return on a punt or KO as well. But Lee was fun to talk to for an hour about college football and you could tell he was a fanatic. Too bad the game has changed so much from those days.

In high school, I lived near Corso and dude was the only hope around ‘town’. During Covid, every weekend for gameday people would play the course, Heathrow, behind his place and put their teams ‘drip’ up in his yard. He’s some, in my eyes, that deserves the world.
