More on Rashan Gary Coaches Visit

Jan 20, 2016, 11:27 PM

May be germans, but apparently Kornblut talked to Rashan's mom:

Alabama got the better of Clemson on the football field Jan. 11 in Phoenix. The Tigers are now hoping to one up the Crimson Tide in Paramus, N.J. That's the hometown of defensive lineman Rashan Gary and his final official visit on Jan. 29 will be to either Clemson or Alabama.

He has already taken official visits to Michigan, Ole Miss, Auburn and Southern Cal. This weekend he's going back to Michigan unofficially to hang out with some friends. So, Clemson or Alabama will get the all important final visit. Clemson coaches Brent Venables, Marion Hobby and Dan Brooks made an in home visit last night. Alabama head coach Nick Saban and assistants will be in the home tonight. Wednesday afternoon Auburn was in the school for a meeting. And Ole Miss and Ohio State were in on Monday.

"It went great," Gary's mother Jennifer Coney said of the meeting with the Clemson trio. "We have formed a good relationship and talked about different things. It was my first time meeting Coach Hobby. It was a good visit. Coach Venables' motor is always on high. He was great, Coach Brooks as well. Everything that we need to know about Clemson we pretty much know it."

Gary and his mother visited Clemson over the Easter weekend so most of the coaches weren't there, so that's one of the reasons they are considering a return visit. She said the family will sit down after dinner Thursday night and decide where to go Jan. 29.

Ms. Coney has been handling all of the talking for her son who refrains from discussing recruiting with the media unless you meet with him in person. And the recruiting season is beginning to take its toll.

"I'm tired," she said. "I am going to cry on Signing Day. I don't care where he goes. He can go to the county college. I just want it over."

Rashan's mother must not know much about Korncoot, or she wouldn't waste her valuable time talking to him.

She said alabama seem like a boot camp and a all work no play kind of school. She said rashan would be super successful if he was to go to bama.

Link? All that I've read today in the other post(s) implied that she is neither focused on football nor academics entirely, but rather the friendships fostered / rashan's collegiate experience as a whole.

Yep! That's what I got, and even more, she said that she wanted her son to go to a place that was about more than football. If that's the case, she would forbid her son from going to a "boot camp".

I would love to read that some of his future tiger teammate brothers drove up there and should him why they all consider themselves family.

Maybe even some of those that have already come and gone but can still speak to the brotherhood, someone like CJ, Dawkins Sr., Tajh, Merryweather, or Dodd and Lawson.

Would be cool for a recruit to open the front door and see some of those guys and say, let's take a little ride bro.

Reggie played for Clemson for how long

and you still can't spell his name? Poor guy. He sure did give a lot of himself to Clemson on the field.

But, great idea. Seems like a movie.

Hang in there Mom!

Saw an interview with her and Rashan. Seemed to have a great relationship with her son. When a child is respectful, disciplined, and balances their priorities, the parent is doing something right. I'm guessing our coaches wish every parent was like her. She sees through a lot of smoke screens, so less time dealing with competition's misinformation.

What's Korncoot doing up there? Helping Bama recruit?***
