Speaking of chicks man…

Jan 5, 2022, 6:27 PM

In what world does logic suggest that buying a two pound bone in spiral sliced ham “on sale” for $18.00 is a great deal compared to buying two pounds of boar’s head deli sliced ham for…18.00.

When your purpose is to make sandwiches?

It's barely the same thing.

Bone-in ham is actual un-molested muscle tissue, in it's form on the animal.

Deli ham is similar material, made into some sort of slurry, other crap mixed in, pressed into a mold, injected with flavorings and seasonings and whatever, cooked, and vacuum sealed with a bunch of salt solution.

Deli ham is closer to potted meat than spiral cut ham.

Or maybe I'm totally wrong. *shrug*

Bone-in ham ain't $9 per pound. $2 per pound max at normal grocery stores. Mebbe you can go up to $9/pound if getting from omaha steaks or some kinda whole foods type place, but even then I doubt it.

2ndly, I don't think I've ever even seen a 2lb ham that was spiral cut with a bone in it.

I'm thinking ya gots a 10lb ham.

Last note: A bone in spiral ham on sale can be found for like fiddy cents per pound.

Ok, I feel better. Carry on.

if it's more than 2.5 pounds or so, it's the densest ham that ever existed.
