So on Gameday this weekend, ND's schedule was brought up...

and all the hosts were in agreement that with Notre Dame's "ridiculous" lineup, if they managed 9 wins this year, they'd be BCS bound...no question.

...so without a title game, 9 wins means 3 losses during this stretch:

Purdue
@ #13 Mich St.
#8 Michigan
Miami
#21 Standford
BYU
@ #4 Oklahoma
Pitt
@ BC
Wake
@ #1 USC

Forget the fact that they only have 4 away games (vs. 8 home games) this year.

Forget the fact that Mich St., Oklahoma, Michigan, Wake, Pitt, and BC all looked shaky or worse in their first games.

If ND takes losses against USC, Oklahoma and Michigan, does a 9-win season (with a marquee victory against Mich St.) really deserve a BCS bowl?

my thoughts in looking at that schedule, Stanford may not be a top 25 team. I think ND can split with the michigans, and then at OU and at USC are loses.

Thats 9-3. The wild card to me in there is BYU and MAYBE Miami (long shot). Pitt, BC, WF, Purdue should all be wins.

If they lose to BOTH Michigans and start 2-2, it might be another typical ND season.

The only thing they deserve with a 9-3 record is the...

ND missing the marque games against Clemson, FSU, and VT.

They have 6 home games, 4 away games, and 2 neutral site games. The Navy game was in Ireland and the Miami game's in Chicago (which is pretty much home field advantage, but still neutral site).
