I doubt they are looking for lineman and wr's for this week's game. They are just looking for walk-ons to build up some depth. Its not like they are coming in with all 2 way players, even tho they need all they help they can get.

I believe you are correct. It is the first week of classes for their students, so the time makes sense. If I recall correctly, Clemson used to send a similar email during our first week of classes that also highlighted our positions in need of some extra depth.

If KS is looking for walk-ons 2-3 days prior to a game with the defending National Champions, then their coach should be in a mental hospital instead of a regular hospital. He should be fired immediately as he is clueless. He's had ALL season to accomplish this, and apparently he decided to go to the hospital instead of facing his incompetent coaching failure. Wow - I need that job. I could accomplish something this pathetic in my sleep.
I hope we beat them by 70-80 points and KS gets a new coach that has a clue. They deserve better IMO.
Does that coach get paid real $$$ to under perform like this?

I'm gonna give it a shot. I'm 6'3", weigh about 183lbs. That should get me a line position with KSU. Offensive tackle maybe? I'll go up against Dexter, hand him a Sharpie in the middle of a pile up, ask him to sign my helmet and then call for an ambulance.

I mean there's run up the score like Georgia Tech / Cumberland kind of a beating, and then there's life altering physical re-arrangement things no longer work kind of a beating.... I was thinking more of the former until the tweet.... now I'm worried more about the latter.

Yeah. This is a very weak football program. Has been for decades. Really, anything less than a 40+ point beat down will be disappointing.

This team isn't coming to win this game they know it, but it's another good chance they have to get money so there program can survive. Yes they need walkons and probably can't support them without games like this for equipment etc... I know this school is super terrible. I watch them play Alabama last year and on a few plays they weren't too bad. I think this is obviously a regular thing for this school to bring out extra players to build depth. They have 2 deep that's scholarship guys that aren't much different than the citadel or whatever at FCS level. I think when we scheduled them hey we're doing pretty good at there level then they fell apart. I think we should treat it like an NFL preseason game, but let all those guys know that are backups that this tape is vital to where they stack up in depth chart and where they, the coaches, need to recruit more talent. So if you want a job you gotta go get em! Starters should play 1st half or get up by 4 TDs whichever comes first. I think Clemson should run the football with all those backs cause it will be wet and throw a few balls but I'd keep Kelley pretty protected from scrutiny because his first game it's going to be wet and we can sandbag a little bit out them away first built running the offense before conditions get bad. I think you get Kelly to make a few good pass plays to build his confidence but have Kent State DL on skates running the ball. I mean what would that do to not only Kent State but to Auburn. LOL they'd be like wth we practiced for them for weeks now and they are now a power running spread option.
Which might I add was what we were originally trying to be. This is an opportunity to build great depth and show that we are going to be more balanced and grittier than even last year and have so much talent and depth that they under valued us and I think Auburn will start getting nervous!

Seriously, to put someone who doesn't have months of working out with the team on their O-line, they would get slaughtered by our D-line. I hope that doesn't happen.
