Guess we've been spoiled the last 10+ years with WRs

Sep 6, 2022, 9:46 AM

Antonio Williams looked really good. Not so much for the rest. Gotta catch the ball. WR was a trouble spot last year and only one game in, but didn't see much improvement. WR seems like a spot that can be addressed via the transfer portal...

You're spot on about Williams. Some dropped passes and not being tough to take the ball from the DB is not a good combination. I can't wait to see what Randall brings when he is full speed.

In all fairness to DJ, he should have had at least 4 more completions and another 50+ yards. Who knows where the game would have gone from there.

Really sorry to say that I agree with you completely (as far as our big / boundary-type WRs).

Antonio Williams reminds me of a not-quite-as-fast Jordan Addison ... A.W. is a stud slot guy.

Can't wait to see Adam Randall ... maybe he'll be able to catch a contested pass.

There are many elements that go into a pass. To make conclusions between past years and now you have to consider pass protection, ability to run the ball, speed at WR to get open, goods hands to catch the ball and of course on target pass. When we develop a better running game (remember ETN), I think our pass game will be better.

bottom line, WRs were unimpressive last year with a lot drops and game 1 this year was no different.
