Bought a rust bucket old truck to work on in my spare time.

Went to DMV to get the title.

Wrote on the old title the sale price (standard procedure)

Instead of trusting me, the DMV clerk informed me that I needed a bill of sale ... otherwise, I would have to pay tax on the NADA value of the 1960 Ford, which was $31,900.

Now I have to get the seller to generate a bill of sale, revisit the DMV, and hope I have everything needed to finish this odyssey.
