What else are we gonna do? Our conference is dumping more and more every year. At least we used to have a couple contenders like Louisville or FSU plus the ND matchup. This has changed. We are at an increasing disadvantage due to what our fellow members schools are doing. Kudos to Clemson for trying to fix this. We schedule 2 Sec every year. Just didn’t work out Saturday night.

Going to open with GT in this CFA kickoff next year. Should be easier. Opening with Central Sisters of the Poor State may be a thing of the past.

Many members of the board, if not most, believe an undefeated p5 champion should always go to the playoffs. If that is the case, there is zero benefit in scheduling competitive games throughout the season that are out of conference.

Honestly I am ok with D1 schools playing FCS teams etc to open the season. We do not like it but these guys get no preseason and with so much riding on every game I would love to see this or even some kind of preseason scrimmage. Teams are so different by the end of the season but you are judged on the one game.

It is a gift. Our staff now is faced with what our offense can do against an elite defense and they have the opportunity to adjust.
Maybe they will, maybe they wont.. but there is opportunity in this. A lot of film and the chance to make it right.
