Those last 2 GT free throws

Feb 13, 2021, 9:03 AM

looked like the guy shot them wearing the mangled face mask. Not even close to going in

Maybe best in conference or right there at almost 89%. About the sam as what our tam shot last night. I think we were 17 of 19

80% from the line.
To me, it looked like a deliberate miss. They were clunkers...not even close! Glad Honor made his 3, but I will always wonder about Alvarado's shots.

Are you implying he intentionally missed to throw game***

I believe the fatigue set in for him....

Feb 13, 2021, 10:25 AM

Played UVA on Wednesday...Pastner doesn’t use bench.....even left game for a brief time with injury....fatigue affects shooting lift.....Averado is a good player, but all I could think was that I was glad it wasn’t Devoe going to the line (that guy really kills us)

I find it difficult to criticize any free throw shooting last night. Both teams shot a high percentage which restored a little of my faith in fundamentals. Crunch time will always be iffy so I was very happy Baehre knocked his down. I think Dawes was our only critical late miss from the line?

Yes.

Dawes' miss was the front end of a one-and-one, so it was painful.

Our only other miss all night was Sims missing his second FT on a 2-shot foul late in the first half. Sims still shot 4-5 for the game.

GT player landed on Dawes shooting arm on foul ...

Feb 13, 2021, 12:02 PM

... you could see Dawes trying to "shake it loose" before he shot free throw.

Definitely affected his shooting motion.
