He said he would have let FSU score on first down. What an idiot.

It would've given them the best chance to win
But it's hard to calculate abject stupidity (FSU pitching) into the equation

Recovering a fumble and then only needing to score once is mathematically better.

FUmbling (barring a stupidly called pitch play)

Is a much lower odd scenario to occur than FSU taking a minute and half off the clock (and/or forcing LSU to use their TO's) and *still* coming away with a 2 possession lead

No, it's not, because the odds of the fumble are near zero.***

If that is the case, then he should also say FSU should take 3 knees and kick a field goal, no?

I cannot recall a game where the defense allowed the offense to score a TD. Are there any examples of this strategy being used?
The only time I can remember thinking it would be a good idea was the ACCCG vs GT and Joe Hamilton.

Closed thing I can think of was Kevin Steele in the Orange Bowl against WV. That seemed to be the game plan….
You line up and play defense just like LSU did in that situation because of exactly what happened.

Yes I have definitely seen this strategy play out. I believe that it was an NFL game, but I can't recall since it was probably 5 years ago. Anyways, the running back for team A had a clear path into the endzone and I think there were maybe 20 seconds or so left. When the running back reached the 1 yard line he takes a knee rather than scoring in order to keep burning clock. The defense didn't expect that for sure. The offense scored on the next play untouched again. In the end I think the strategy didn't pay off and team A won the game. It was pretty crazy watching it live when I no idea what was going on. LOL

I would have to research but yes I have seen it for sure. Only way to possibly get the ball 2 times. Possibly meaning score and recover the onside kick. It made sense to me seeing Florida St could bleed the clock.

His play calling (let them score) is far worse than Norvell's (lets toss the ball to the RB) ever thought about being.

When 1 score can win it may not be a bad idea like the 2016 Championship game. Don't think we planned it but it worked out like that!

I recall a game (college or NFL? not sure) where the RB was supposed to take a knee but he messes up and ran too close to the goal line, tries to stop, then the defense literally pulled him into the endzone.

I don’t like his play by play. SEC homer. Knows more than anyone else in his mind.
I mute the volume if it his game.

Honestly I have to mute for most of them these days. Really wish I could get Don synced up with the tv.
