Greg McElroy and Taylor Zarzor on Sirius both but Clemson

out of their top 5 but included Oh St and Mich in top 5 (bama, fsu, houston). Referenced concerns about Clemson's D after performance at Auburn.
Did any of y'all walk away concerned about our D after Sat night? I must have missed something.

That is an assanine opinion. Our D was great. Michigan played Hawaii for crying out loud. Also I think the love for Houston and Florida State is overblown.
Houston had a nice win but maybe Oklahoma just isn't that good!
Florida State was abysmal in first half and for the most part beat Ole Miss because Kelly had a mental breakdown and Ole Miss defense was about to pass out from exhaustion. Florida State O line is a dumpster fire

Signed, only 38 yards at half.
Those SEC homers are still salty we landed several haymakers on their untouchable crimson tide.

Taylor's a hater

Taylor was a personality on WFNZ in Charlotte for years. I'll never forget him saying, "Dabo is not a head coach. He doesn't even have a name like a head coach. Dabo! ReallY?" I called up and told him that the Tigers were going to be force. Fortunately, he was around Charlotte long enough for me to throw it back in his face...numerous times.

I listen to his show a lot on Sirius

When Dabo did the Clemsoning rant, both Taylor and Greg were the only major media personalities to heavily criticize Dabo over the whole thing. Most other folk seemed to think it was warranted and hilarious. I thought that was kind of bizarre.
Greg is obv an SEC homer. I think he colors Taylor's opinions just a bit. It might be subconscious on Taylor's part. On the show the other day Greg said our O-line was pretty bad. Also, one thing I will say about Taylor is that he LOVES Mike Williams. He gives him a ton of props at least.

Maybe they were looking at the FSU or Ole Miss defenses. I remember opening game 2 years ago UGA running all over our defense. How did that Defense end up? that's right #1. CBV has got himself another top 5 defense and the Offense will be rolling by week 4. take away the 45 yards of passing when we were just trying to keep them from scoring at TD (Prevent) and they had 87 yards on the ground and 130 through the air. anyone that thinks that Auburn outplayed us probably believes all politicians are honest and Notre Dame was the only team that had to play in a Hurricane last year.

If our defense was as good as some of you think we wouldn't have allowed Auburn to gain those 38 yards in the first half!

I listen to them quite a bit (wish they would bring Bill King back). They contradict themselves a lot.....bottom line is they have to fill 3 hours. I started taking McElroy with a grain of salt after he said that in '14 our O and D lines would get pushed around by SCar because of the UGa game.
They have the advantage of hindsight and being able to sit back and critique everything. Rarely do any of these guys get critiqued themselves. I like Lugenbill when he is on though.

Dumb comment and obviously didn't watch the game. Really only show on college sports radio I really enjoy listening to is Packman. Zarzour and McIlory are usually tolerable. I've never heard Rick Neuheisal give Clemson any praise. Rachel Barbibeau is terrible and non-incitefull. Lou Holtz is the worst by far. I like Coach K but his radio show is super boring.

Defense was off the charts in the 1st half but pretty

mediocre in the 2nd half. They did a nice job of keeping Auburn off the score board (for the most part) in the 2nd half, but they did allow a number of extended drives. I think Auburn ran 49 plays for ~230 yards in 7 second half drives.
Overall it was a strong effort though. They were flat out incredible in the 1st half. I'm interested to see how they fare against an offense that can actually throw the ball. We probably won't get a taste of that until the Louisville game though.
