Is it really interesting? GN basically plucked the highest rated players from the portal and made a story out of it. Some of the guys on the list are head cases we would not want around our program. Others transferred to get more playing time so why would they come to Clemson to sit behind DJ? Story is basically a nothing burger...

Agree! Why would you come to Clemson to be a backup?
Chase Brice did it for 3 years, and is now at App State....
Those guys in the story want a guaranteed starting spot, just like Chase and Kelly Bryant got.
DJ5 is our starter, don't pick up a problem in the clubhouse....
Hunter can be a great back up, and win some games if necessary, along with the other new guys.
We don't win big games without DJ5, or a Natty! And we will not win them with the guys in the portal either...

Odds are, even if we do eventually decide to bring someone new in to play QB, it will be somebody most of us have never heard of, not some former 4-5 star recruit who has been bouncing around to different schools ever since.

Portal and something happens to DJ, this season is lost. Walk-ons do not win championships. Freshmen don’t win championships unless they are named Watson, Lawrence or Uiagalelei. That’s why WE play the game at this point with the Clemson program...CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Yeah, that's the bottom line. I understand what others are saying about not winning a championship with backup qbs but lsshoe did.
I kinda like the kid from Michigan but is he a head case? Idk, but I'm sure Dabo does. And I'm sure there's a kid out there that isn't... I don't consider Chase or Kelly a head case.
I'd rather us give ourselves a fighting chance. No disrespect to helms. Who knows, he may still be our 2 QB. If a kid is willing to come here knowing that, give them a shot... Unless, as I've always said that Dabo knows that for sure bubba is coming.
