Gotta take a serious look at our OL development...

Jan 2, 2018, 12:46 AM

Getting 4 and 5 star guys up there, but they aren’t taking their game to the next level. The talent is there, it’s up to the position coach to develop his players.

I do agree with that.

Caldwell's age is being used big time against us in recruiting. I wouldn't be shocked to see him hang it up this off season.

But we just won the NC last season and Wayne Train had plenty of holes to run through... what's the major diffence between then and now?

I think this group is mostly responsible for not being able

Jan 2, 2018, 12:55 AM

to stop the bleeding tonight.

That said, OL development is a roulette game. A few years back FSU's line coach was "the greatest" and they are falling apart at the line. we've just got to get some leaders up there that know when they can change the flow of the game. We've had some OL leaders in previous years and I've seen it mentioned here this year that Hyatt is not that guy. Get some leaders and develop some depth so that guys can be held accountable in-game and I think we will stay successful.

Yeah, MacLain and Guillermo were both strong vocal leaders while Hyatt is more of a lead by example type.

OL recruiting has been questionable evaluation. Glad we got Carman. Need another stud that can move.

Run blocking is nill.

They played awfully good for the most part

this year. I think in this case, I'm just gonna tip my cap to Bama's DL and their DC for smart blitz calls.
