Jon Kincaid on CBS radio: "Clemson has the best wins and the worst loss for a title contender."

I completely agree. But you know what a one loss Clemson team did last year? Beat the pants off every top tier title contender all in the same season. We are built for this.

Wow. Actual reasonable commentary....

That's a good take.
All we can do now is win the next game.
By the end of November most teams will have 2 losses.
Among the Power 5 conferences, There will be one or two undefeated teams. And maybe a couple of one loss teams going into conference championship weekend.
You can look at the rankings and upcoming schedules and see it coming.
If we win out, we'll be back in the playoff.

If OU wins out, they will top us with the worst loss.

But TCU doesn’t look like a win for them right now.

Yeah OU looks way too unstable to manage defensively against TCU and the other high-production Big XII for the long haul. Plus, Mayfield is a tool.

“worst loss for a title contender." No

Oct 15, 2017, 9:52 AM

I will name 3 worse and Oklahoma is the worse for title contended

Oklahoma loss to Iowa st
38-3. Washington State
Michigan loss to Miami chi fan State

Our starting QB should not have played and was knocked out with concussion. Etienne played a half before being injured
We did not have our stud kicker
We missed FGs that would have had us win by 3 or had them kicking to tie

I'd put the OU/ISU shocker right up there with CU/SYR, but ISU ain't no slouch and will continue to give Big XII teams problems this year. Wazzou's loss to a halfway decent Cal squad is in no way a "worse" loss optically than us falling to 'Cuse. And Michigan? They're an overhyped melodrama with Khakibaugh at the helm - not a title contender in my mind.

Gotta disagree

Oct 15, 2017, 1:29 PM

We lost with a litany of mistakes, on the road by 3 pts. Wazzou was absolutely d e stroyed by Cal. Raw W/L with no context you could maybe make an argument, but with any introspection ours is not the worst. Wazzou may not be either, but it sure isn't us.

I hear ya on the performance statistics loud n clear. I just think Cal has a much higher ceiling than 'Cuse this year. Cal is a better team, and yes, they ripped Wazzou a new one.

But maybe I'll be proven wrong emphatically the next couple weeks if 'Cuse can do somethin against Miami and FSU...?
