if it weren't for its proximity to Oklahoma City.

Not as scenic, obviously, but the vibe of being a full-on college town would be amplified if there weren't a major city within a 20 minute drive.

The school doesn’t matter to these guys. Why bother visiting?

It just matters that he’ll start for an sec team and have a chance to go pro. Where he does that is irrelevant.

I tried to live there. Not only is the university bad, the entire surrounding area is substandard. Lost 200K on a house and was glad to get out of there with the loss

Their stadium and football facilities are not on campus. Why would he go on campus? Certainly not to attend classes.

It's possible there wasn't much demand for Rattler's services in the portal and USCe was the obvious choice among whoever it was that contacted him.

If there was serious interest from more solid Power 5 football programs than USCe, he'd have to be a complete idiot to choose them without a visit.
