Lame a$$ attempt at the "faking injuries" issue

Apr 22, 2022, 7:56 AM

Conferences and schools have to submit a report to the national coordinator of officials, who will provide feedback to the conference. The conference or school would then levy any additional punishment.

The solution is simple. If play is stopped and a player leaves the game due to an injury, that player cannot return until the next defensive series.

NCAA may not want to create an environment where players felt they had to play through a possible injury in the moment for fear of missing an entire drive.

That’s just a thought, I don’t really know what goes into these decisions.

Continuing to play after being injured...

has always been a factor that players had to consider.

Of course, there are teams who would simply send in a player much lower on the depth chart just to take a fall and fake an injury.

The fake injuries only apply to the SEC. They are the world leaders in this category.

I love this suggestion. If it’s about safety, then why would you not create adequate space for evaluation by medical staff if your “injury” is sufficient to stop game play? Assuming everything is fine, jump back in for the next series and move on. Seems like it would virtually eliminate this petitioning and appealing and bureaucracy business.
