Here are a couple of good ones and a little known song (Flim Flam Man) that you can shag to.

We probably passed each other at these places Contractor, especially at the Pawleys Island pavillion.

Reminds me of the Pad, the Barrel, the Spanish Galleon, and the Beach Party, all in OD in the mid to late 60's. But if you grew up in the Pee Dee, you could go to to the Coachman in Bennettsville Friday or Saturday night and see the likes of Billy Stewart singing I Do Love You, Sitting in the Park or Summertime. Hot, sweaty crowd grinding back and forth as the Fat Boy serenaded lots of would-be young lovers...plenty of atmosphere (black lights) to highlight your white shirt and teeth and many cases of cold PBR to dumb down the senses. Those were the days, my friend!

Thanks for the memory and Go Tigers!!

I Own a home in O.D. I still love it there. Spent first week of June there every year, of my teenage years, and afterwards. First week was some fun times. They got to the point they wouldn’t rent to you if you were from Rock Hill. Back then, there were mostly houses. If the Pad, Galleon, OD Pavilion, Fat Harolds, Studebakers could only talk. lol

As a yankee from NJ, "beach music" was one of my first clues that I was in a different world when I arrived on campus in 1981, haha ! On move in day, my roommate (a SC native) and I were discussing music and some other things. He looked me straight in the eye and said "Y'all shag? " Needless to say, I thought he meant something else... Good times !
