Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Apr 18, 2022, 7:59 AM

Friday night, when to Shoeless brewing for a bit the Home Team for a late supper. I am still needing to compile a list of places in this town that are open late for supper but aren't expensive nor fast food.

Saturday, pretty lazy day as sharkgirl had a rare Saturday off. Did get some cleaning done.

Sunday, we did our first all grain beer brew. That takes all day, spend about as much time cleaning as brewing.

Nice.....very nice

Thurs after work: Took wife and kids to Clemson softball game. Had dinner there, 1/5 stars. Tiger took my hat and wore it a little while and dropped it on the ground. Girls get the walk-off win.

Fri - Leave house about 8:15 to Chester State Park. Caught a 3.5 lb largemouth just messing around. Picnic lunch, frisbee golf with kids. Get home and head to my dad's house with McJr

We had burgers and then set out 41 jugs at dark.

Sat - It's cold and rainy, we pick up our jugs (only lose 1) and bring in 21 catfish. Go to town for breakfast, come back and clean the fish.

Then to church for Easter egg hunt, perfect weather. Not sure what happened after that?

Sun - HE IS RISEN! Church in the morning, head straight to in-laws, burgers for lunch, a little fishing around the dock (a few bream and a bass). Go home. I sold my old livescope unit to my buddy and help him get oriented with install. Showed MsLovin how much I love her.

Ups and downs

Apr 18, 2022, 8:12 AM

Friday
got a new lawnmower and cut my own grass for the first time in 10 years
Swung by Boonjugs and stocked up on smoked filet

Saturday
Woke up to find a screw in the new tire on the same wheel that had a flat a couple of weeks ago so dealt with that instead of going to the blacksmith guild meeting and then did more yard work inspired by my new mower

Sunday
Nice Easter celebration with friends

Played golf, ate way too much good food and Caroline’s Cakes coconut cake, nice Easter service on club grounds.
Back home Sun afternoon, fell asleep in front of golf.

Not too bad.

Apr 18, 2022, 8:16 AM

Friday evening after work, watched the twin terrors whilst lilmissgrouching and wifeof went over to a friends house for a birthday party. Was supposed to be a sleepover, they came home at around 11….right in the middle of me…err…enjoying having a quiet house to myself. Selfish ########. Luckily wifeof felt sorry for me and apologized appropriately.

Saturday watched FA Cup semifinal…how bout dem Reds, y’all? Cut the grass in the afternoon, had a fence beer with the neighbors, quiet evening in.

Yestiday, did Easter bunny related stuff with chirrens, wife went overboard with celebration items, probably still a few plastic eggs sitting in random spots in the house. Took lilmissgrouching to Kids Opening Day at Camden Yards for the Os game. Beautiful day but a little chilly, had to buy an overpriced sweatshirt for myself. The child put away her normal overload of highly priced concession stand items but for the first time, we stayed for the whole game with minimal interruptions in getting up and sitting down. O’s had a 5 run 8th so that got her super excited with the crowd cheers. After Sunday afternoon games at the stadium, they allow kids to come down to the field and run the bases, so she got to do that. Pretty cool seeing her on the big scoreboard. Got home and hung with neighbors for a bit, ordered cheesesteaks for dinner, and headed on to bed.

8/10, pt deduction for lingering cough from previous cold still annoying me.

sore and tired and walking like a crab. Our junk seems to have procreated and produced more junk.

but alive and back in Charleston now.

Word of advice: if you don't need it - sell it, give to a charity or burn it for your neighbors to enjoy.

Pretty good weekend

Apr 18, 2022, 8:41 AM

Started Thursday morning with a turkey hunt (successful) and dinner and wine on the boat with wife's cousin and her husband who are taking it back up to Buzzards Bay for the summer. Friday finished cleaning up grout lines on the new tile floor project. Saturday morning went to the Port Royal Softshell Crab Festival. Long lines for softshell, served beer and wine for 3 hours. Saturday night tax season party. Sunday morning great church service with bell ringers and full choir. Relaxed rest of the day. Ribeyes and green beans on the grill.

blah....

Apr 18, 2022, 8:45 AM

Got a cold the previous Thursday and that some-bish lasted through to Saturday. Not a fan.

Had last week off 'cause kids spring break, but due to son-of with broken ankle/leg and me with cold still, wife and daughter-of headed out to Charleston/Beaufort on Tuesday and left me and son-of to fend for ourselves at home. Spent a good part of the week actually working and the rest feeling like crap and taking care of son-of. Whole week went by a didn't do anything fun nor accomplish anything at home. Total waste.

Saturday - took son-of to Mall so he could get some football cards.

Sunday - drove to Aiken and had Easter lunch with my Mom. Wife/daughter-of met us there coming up from Beaufort. Ate lunch and then drove back home...back by 5:30. Some snack something for dinner and then in bed by 8:30.

Total blah weekend and crappy week. Would not dew again.

Hopefully, this week will be better. Hoping to go see The Connells in Cola on Friday and then in New Orleans all next week for our industry trade show. Ts&Ps appreciated for my liver.

Pretty good overall, in spite of elements that conspired to

Apr 18, 2022, 8:47 AM

destroy it.

Friday, took the day off. Spent the morning getting my annual tithe to the holy United States Government signed, sealed and delivered. Ran a few errands, did a few chores. Checked in on a work issue off and on during the day because I'm the link to vendor support, which always seems to happen when I take a day off. Visited RH Mom in the afternoon, then back home to clean up and head to Del Frisco's in Charlotte for our anniversary celebration with the Mrs. Food was delicious, service was stellar.

Saturday, coffee and checking in on work issue until I exhausted every avenue I could to fix on my side. Finally gave up and left it for the developers to fix Monday. Worked on some minor issues with my Mazda, visited RH Mom, then headed to Slow Play Brewing to see The Well Drinkers play some bluegrass. Beer, band, and food from Cibi Cibi food truck were all excellent. Back home to watch the 4th quarter of the USFL game, which was pretty good. Then Austin City Limits had Jon Randall, Jack Ingram, and Miranda Lambert doing stuff from their Marfa Tapes album last year.

Sunday, went to Easter lunch with the family, restaurant snafu at Legal Remedy Cantina was almost a big deal. Sis had booked a reservation on the Open Table app, but the place was closed. We managed to get in without a wait at the Fish Market in Fort Mill and the food was excellent, crisis averted. Ran a few errands and made grocery run after lunch, back home and played bass for a couple of hours, then watched Fear The Walking Dead and crashed.

18.85/19 Covids for Eatster.

Apr 18, 2022, 8:56 AM

Not too bad. Did not get to play golf on Saturday. Did get some more "moving in" work finished...only bee here 6 weeks now and still trying to complete this list of "got to do's".

Sunday was great - rained and stormed, but rested. No damage here thank goodness.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Friday - took kids to a hands on museum, pizza dinner at our favorite spot. Good Friday service and then back home. Walked to the Pub, it was quiet. Talked a little, drank a little and walked home.

Saturday - took dog on long walk with kids. Shot some basketball with my son and daughter went to gymnastics. Just all around a lazy day, which was good.

Sunday - church services, then to inlaws for the balance of the day. Watched a TON of NBA action, which was awesome. Another lazy day

8/10 - just wish it was warmer yesterday.

Good weekend

Apr 18, 2022, 9:11 AM

Friday: was off, and felt like sheisse, as I was dropping lots of it out muh ###

Saturday: messed around, cooked supper for everyone, watched about 5 minutes of USFL, and apparently that was the only scoring in the game, pretty much.

Sunday: glorious day, great weather, huge Easter dinner and time with the fam.

not bad at all

Apr 18, 2022, 9:12 AM

took it easy Friday - MIL was here during day to hang out w/ dawghater2baby since daycare was closed

woke up saturday and drove down to in-laws to celebrate easter. all in all, not too bad. hung out w/ FIL and wife's uncle. her brother showed up a few hours late, so of course everyone had to wait for him.

sunday was chill. hung out w/ fam in the morning. wife and dawghater2baby were napping in the afternoon so I went and poked around the golf course for a few hours. thinking i'm going to axe my cart plan and just start walking. walked 9 and it wasn't bad at all. might need to get a push cart to carry the beers tho.

You need one of those robo bags

Apr 18, 2022, 9:29 AM

A few weeks ago we were eating lunch at the CC and watched a guy with one.
Just follows along everywhere you go. At one point he was pacing back and forth waiting for his turn to putt and the bag was pacing with him. Pretty funny

first time at the Tryon Steeplechase and it was a blast. Had a spot on the rail near a jump and that was cool. Had a spread of spicy basil chicken, Tabouli salad, tzatziki, all homemade, with lettuce for wrapping and pita for dipping, delicious. My orange pants were a hit with the ladies, got at least a half dozen looking good remarks. Would love to go next year for the 75th running.

Apr 18, 2022, 9:32 AM

Friday cooked supper.

Saturday morning wife went Easter shopping. Came back and niece came over and she and wife baked an Easter cake. Easter bunny things done Saturday night. Sunday kids woke up to easter bunny stuff. Went to the 10am service (no sunrise because 4yo). Anyway, church was standing room only. Then went to inlaws for a 10lb ham, 8lbs of sausage balls, chips and french onion dip, blackberries, blueberries, oranges, strawberries, wife/niece's cake, a carrot cake, some other dessert, grapes with yogurt, butter beans, green beans, candied yams, pickles, broccoli salad, two casseroles of some sort, pasta salad,....I forget the rest. Was only the immediate 25 in the family. 4yo did his 3rd easter egg hunt. One cousin incited violence by putting a $20 bill in one egg, so it was a mad dash among the kids. Left and took a plate to mom, as she could not make it this year. Came home and got kids ready for school. Oh, pulled another tooth of middle son last night, so tooth fairy came the night after the Easter bunny.

That's about it.

Apr 18, 2022, 9:33 AM

Fri: went to a Good Friday service and knocked off of work a few minutes early. Pork tenderloin and corn on the grill for dinner. Storms rolled through and the dog kept us up all night. C-.

Sat: ran errands in the morning and spent the rest of the day with all the in-laws, who were in town for Easter. Had some fantastic ribeyes for dinner. The only downside was sonof getting off schedule and keeping us (but mostly my wife) up all night.Still A.

Sun: Easter service was fantastic. We hosted my parents and sister for brunch & Easter dinner. Brunch was homemade orange rolls. Dinner was mostly non-traditional because it was rainy and I didn't want to spend all weekend in the kitchen. Baked Greek chicken, roast potatoes, Alton Brown's ambrosia, Sister Schubert Rolls, and strawberry pie. It turned out well. Weather cleared in the afternoon so I got a few outdoor chores done and we went for a walk to the playground. Leftovers for dinner. Storms rolled through last night so the dog kept us up. Storms rolled out and sonof woke up. Still A.

Overall: Excellent but very little sleep. I'm dragging today with a busy week ahead. A, because Easter.

Re: How do you cook that chicken, yo?

Apr 18, 2022, 11:52 AM

It's a copycat recipe from a local "Greek and three" place. Marinate bone-in, skin-on chicken pieces in olive oil, lemon zest, thyme, rosemary, garlic, oregano, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

Put in oven safe skillet and roast at 425 until 170 degrees, spoon juices over chicken, broil to crisp skin. Let rest about 10 minutes. Add lemon juice to pan drippings, stir, and pour on top of chicken just before serving.

Pretty dang good

Apr 18, 2022, 9:41 AM

Fri - mulled about and ran some errands. Went to the Alley to have a few brews. Walked home, just in case.

Sat - took little one to in-laws for egg hunt and then egg dyeing while wifey did the easter shopping that we had put off for too long. Her brother came up from Charleston for Easter with his wife and two kids. A grand time was had by all. Ate at one of in-laws favorite restaurants, Jade of China. Party of 14 and over half are redheads, lol. Always an interesting time hanging with her family. Ate way too much lemon chicken and it took a couple hours before I felt like I didn't eat an elephant. Went to buddy's house and hung out/drank beers with some friends.

Sun - woke wife up the good way, ifyouknowwhati'msayin. Did the Easter thing with the little one. Took Easter treats to brother's son that they just adopted, but he and his wife have the 'vid so they stayed on the porch and we stood in the yard. It was a nice, quick visit. Played nine holes with son, and girls came along for the ride. Played like dogshit but had fun having all my kids around me. Little one wanted to go play in the Alley, so went there and hung out and enjoyed a couple beers and the beautiful weather. More fun with the wifey, then hit the rack.

REALLY good weekend, 9.5 easter eggs out of 10. Need to make some egg salad with all the leftover eggs.
