Good morning everybody. How was your weekend?

Aug 17, 2020, 7:51 AM

Friday night, left the house for the first time in a while to pick u supper then watched some horror movies on Shudder.

Saturday, cleaned up around the house for a bit. One room needed a serious reclamation, got about 75% done with that. Out to Sidewall for sharkgirls birthday pizza. Some how a free pizza ended up costing like $45,

Sunday. A mostly lazy day, big grocery run, grilled some burgers. Watched the often punch-less White Sox hit 4 home runs in a row.

Re: Nice weather!

Aug 17, 2020, 7:54 AM

Was able to work in the yard some. New construction lot, so that is basically just fighting red clay mud. Hopefully get some seed sown soon.

Finally broke out the grill, and had burgers Friday night, with some nice marinated chicken Saturday night.

Slept in all the way to 7:30 Sunday. Calling it a win.

7/10 wood dew again

Welp, The Tigers didn't play but I didn't die.

Aug 17, 2020, 8:07 AM

Friday - got the boat back from the shop...running good. Had 10 folks over for a birthday pizza party. Scored a bottle of Makers Mark and a contraband Cobiha Siglo V. Drank many beers.

Sattidy - a little shopping, pretty tame. Grilled some poke chops and corn on the cob.

Sunday - Got up in time to take a nap, took the boat to the marina for lunch, watched Doc come close in G'boro and grilled a chicken.

7.493/10 (-2.55 for the $692 boat bill)

Weekendy?

Aug 17, 2020, 8:11 AM

Saturday morning I went for a run then gathered the family for a second run/bike ride, we got caught in a nice downpour so we got soaked. Went home to clean up then out to Target for Back to School supplies. This was the first time my kids have been in a store in 5 months and that showed. Back to school supplies were close to $200 for 3 kids. One kid needed 72 yellow #2 pencils. SEVENTY TWO. A 24 pack for her normal class and TWO packs for MERIT. I'm thinking a #2 pencil can last at least 2 months. So I guess we don't need to buy more until college. Also, 8 expo markers. I think the teacher must be going to resell these at the flea market. There are 12 kids in the class, no way they need 96 expo markers this year.

Sunday we got up and ran/biked, no rain. Back home to clean a little then out to the pool for beers and then to do some tie dyes. Pretty pumped about these, we are getting better and better. Picked up a few sweet graphic tees over the last month and dyed them. Hopefully they come out great, or at least decent.

Working this morning, couldn't sleep and got up at 6:00 to the home office to markup one of my coworkers mistakes. It's due today, hopefully he can figure out water doesn't travel uphill by itself before the day is over.

At one point, the weekend got all Chestery.

Aug 17, 2020, 8:11 AM

Friday, knocked off a hellweek of work a little early and headed over to visit Mom. Didn't get in the pool because thunderstorm threat unfortunately. Back home where Mrs. made Daniel Boone Inn country ham and fresh fig flatbread pizza for supper. We're battling the birds and squirrels for the fruit of our fig tree for the next week or so, it looks like. The rest of the night was pretty much beer, TV, some bass playing, and beer.

Saturday, rain off and on all day so mostly inside chores. Went to the grocery around noon, wasn't crowded but the people (and I use that term loosely) were a majority of our fine county's mouth breathing Neanderthal dolt savages. Had to do a couple of shots when I got home to calm my nerves. Watched the drive-in car chase classic Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry in the Big Chair, the showered and put on actual respectable dress clothes for the first time since early March. Rode to Chester to eat with the family at Vinny's, which is a hidden jewel. Phenomenal upscale Italian food. Pretty much had the place to ourselves and were treated like royalty by the owner and his wife. Then back home to get the pup out, and flopped into the Big Chair and zoned out to episodes of Shameless.

Sunday, woke up around 9:30, which is odd and rare. Coffee, Mrs. walked the pup and found new heights of lazy for a couple of hours. Then started on more chores, changed HVAC filters, gave the pup a bath, then a long walk to dry her off, then to the pool for a couple of hours. Back home for meatloaf and mac & cheese, a couple of hours playing through some online bass lessons I found, a couple of episodes of Shameless, then crashed.

18.5/19 Covids overall, and go to Chester and eat at Vinny's or I break-a you kneecap.

A weekend of excess with drinking and eating. I am feeling it today.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hopefully Coronavirus Free

Aug 17, 2020, 8:20 AM

Thurs - flew to NC, lots of beer at buds house, social distancing to the max

Friday - get up late, got my run in, went to the boat and sat on boat and drank all day. Social distancing to the max as we just island hopped and snagged up oysters.

Saturday - get up at 4am, go to the boat and rode out into the great unknown called the Atlantic Ocean. Did some fishing, lots and lots of drinking, some good eating and more drinking. Get back to the marina at about 8pm and then the social distancing went out the window. We went to a bar by the marina and its started with just us 4 guys, then it turned into a ######## almost immediately. It got bad enough that I just left and went back to my buds boat and just drank there and actually watched Clemson beat Duke in bball on YouTube TV.

Sunday - wake up on the boat all hungover, grab some breakfast and hit the road to the airport. Got home about 6 played with the kids and made dinner and crashed so hard at 9:30 or so.

Rating? Well if I test negative for Rona it will be a 9.75/10
If I test positive for Rona it will be a 5/10.

New work truck is a Ram 2500 with the 6.4 hemi. I work for a fuel/oil distributor now and they don't use diesels in their pickups. Go figure.

But IDGAF because i'm not paying for it.

It had 51 miles on it when i picked it up. Newest vehicle i've ever had.

Friday: After work, mowed grass until the rain came. Cooked Tacos and watched some TV with MfOjr.

Saturday: Worked a few hours. Picked up lunch for jr. and mom. Went swimming until late in day, mowed rest of grass and went to teach jr. the art of weed eating just as the bottom fell out! Broiled Salmon and steamed Broccoli. Played with jr., ready before bed.

Sunday: Ate lunch with mom and jr. Had tickle match with son before taking him back to his mom's. :( Fixed cooler and went to pond to bush hog some more. Bolt on Farm All broke had to stop. Unhooked back tire sweeps from Kabuto and hooked up plow. Naturally didn't want to cooperate. Finally got everything right and disked for the next two hours. Food plots for deer. Listened to race. Grilled Salmon and squash. Read before bed.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Slight different question...

Aug 17, 2020, 1:23 PM

are you planning for everyone else in the household to get tested at some point? I think I'd want to...that way, if I or other family members end up having it and being asymptomatic, we would know. I think I'd just want to now if I had it.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

"It's Baltimore, Gentlemen; the Gods will not save you."

Thats the only reason I think someone might get tested:

Aug 17, 2020, 1:26 PM

"just to know". Chances are of you have a fever and feel like crap, coughing and stuff, you have it. If you feel bad you should be staying home anyway. If you end up in the hospital they are going to assume you have it and test there.

Chicken Crazy

Aug 17, 2020, 8:48 AM

Got home Thursday and a neighborhood dog killed all but one of my flock. Wife finds a really good deal on chickens and so we go from 8 young chickens and one egg every other day to 25 hens, one massive rooster (####) and now we get 14 eggs PER DAY.

The rest of the weekend was kids, water, and drinking.

The run up to the weekend began last Tuesday when lil'APM was finally able to have his Eagle Scout Court of Honor. He had been awarded Eagle back in late February, but need I say more about why we haven't had the court of honor yet...

Anyhoo, then littlest APM had his 12th birffday Wednesday, then Thursday was all about packing and getting ready to take lil'APM to Elon on Friday.

Mission accomplished. Elon did a great job under the circumstances and Momma and APM are very proud and excited for our boy. He has overcome marginal-at-best parenting on APM's part to become a fine young man with a great opportunity in front of him at Elon.

Hot

Aug 17, 2020, 1:20 PM

Well, not really, at least in one room. Wal-Mart spot cooler paid for itself with a chilly 69 degree bedroom for sleeping Friday night while the rest of the house was a balmy 80 downstairs and 86 upstairs.

AC dude came out Saturday and found a bypass duct leak that had gathered enough condensation to saturate the duct so bad it had to be drained, so that needs to be replaced. He put about 2 ounces of refrigerant in the system; still no idea why it froze the compressor tubing. Tech thinks the capacitor to the blower fan may have flaked out and wasn't pushing enough air over the evap core, so he replaced the fan capacitor under warranty. I still don't think enough air is moving though as it seems there isn't as much volume of air is coming out of the registers as there used to be. He's scheduled to come back Wednesday to take another look. For now, it seems to be working I guess. It took almost 18 hours to cool the house back down to normal temps.

The offer on my house was rescinded and the contract on the house next door was officially cancelled; one guy was trying to by both houses and got mad when I raised the price of my house. Oh well, too bad. House is still for sale. I guess next door neighbor is mad at me; no fscks given.

Got drunk yesterday and rode my bike to Shem Creek boat landing..what a shyatt show. people are generally idiots.

I give it 5/10 no fscks given, because I should have gone out in the boat yesterday but didn't because weather forecast was wrong.
