The Chase for the Sprint Cup Contenders are set!
@Shorty had a perfect week by picking Kenseth to finish first, earning 57 bonus points, and Kyle Busch to finish second. @joetigerny earned 7 bonus points for his alternate driver finishing first.
If you are in the top 16 in points (yellow highlighted area) you are now locked into the chase. You will receive no new mulligans if you have already used yours.
After each round of three races, the chase field will be cut by four participants. Each contender that has made the chase cutoff has the earned points associated with their finish next to their name on the chart below. These points are a one time only deal, and the remainder of the points earned by each contender will be based on their picks and results for the next ten races. If you are not one of the 16 contenders that made the Chase cut, you are still welcome to pick, but your picks will not be counted or tallied.
For those of you that DID make the cut, all points have been reset to 2000, plus whatever bonus points you have earned from your seeding.
I overtook @mewilli this week and won the regular season by one point (begin "this is a conspiracy" posts). From this point forward though, any one of us has a fair chance to win the crown this year!

Thanks rulez, for all the hard work and manipulating your way to first place. The old saying "it ain't the votes that matter, it's who counts the votes that matter" applies in this instance. Zett, needs to take this thing back over. He never "fixed" the results to make him the winner! I think RHTig should audit the results going forward. I know if he detects any cheating, he will administer swift harsh justice. On second thought, ferget that. RHTig would end up winning this thing w/o ever making a pick.

mewilli came on real strong there at the end and I didn't think I would pull it off, much less by only a point. He's on fire going into the chase

Seriously tho, glad you do this for us. Now, I've got to figure out how to beat the competition and the referees in the chase.

place picks correct this week instead of me.
I debated hard if I wanted to go Ky Busch 1 and Matt Kenseth 2 but flip-flopped at the last minute.
