Good compilation of what is being reported.

Jul 23, 2021, 2:53 PM

Nothing new in this report. But, a nice "one stop shopping" for those who want to get caught up on all things expansion.

Thanks Bret. I was just reading another that was breaking down what we know and don't know.

Sounds like Texas A&M is definitely against it but will require at least 2 or 3 other members to down vote it. Maybe LSU but beyond that, who knows.

I read Missouri was a likely no vote. But who knows if I really tead ir or dreamt it.

just don't see it thought. Thought Mizzou would be a hard no, but doesn't appear to be. Maybe the East schools b/c A) to facilitate it, Alabama will be shifted to the East - which means now they have to beat the Tide for even the opportunity to play for the SEC title; & B) with the ones that have OOC rivalry games, non-conference scheduling options will grow more limited (if going to 9 game conference schedule, knowing every other year you're only gonna have 4 home games in league play)

Sounds like the Aggies wont be happy with the Texas add. We have a spot for them in the ACC I bet.....

That would be funny after Jimbo's statements since he left the ACC.

So, what are we looking at -

East: (in order of weakest to strongest) Coots, Vandy, Tennessee, Kentucky, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Alabama.
West: Mizzou, Arky, MSU, OlMiss, Texas, A&M, OU and LSU

The real winner here is LSU and the Mississippi schools that can now more easily tap into texas schools and also play weaker, less consistent opponents.

Someone mentioned the possibility of moving to a pod system instead of two conferences. Four groups of four. Not sure how that would work but could resolve some of the east west issues.

Think the pods is more for schedule parity

Jul 23, 2021, 6:37 PM

since by doing the east-west format, some of the in-conference rivalry games are gonna quit being played annually. The pod scenario I've seen think would ensure everyone in the league would play each other twice in a 4 year span.

Could probably see too the SEC ditch the CCG & instead opt to do East & West championship games (top teams in the eastern pods play each other, ditto for western). Wouldn't surprise me really, w/ a 12-team playoff gonna get rammed down our throat & now the super-conference push is gonna happen
