GITT: Best Willy-Brice memory

Nov 25, 2017, 8:27 AM

I'll start with 2 or 3:

At some point in the 80's (can't remember which year) after we won, our cheerleaders took our big #1 banner and covered the gamecock in the center of the field with it. Some yahoo coot ran out of the stands and tried to pull the banner away from the coot holy-of-holies (at least until the super-Spurrier poster). Our cheerleaders proceeded to wrap him in the banner while SLED guys swarmed him. As the brought him past the Clemson sections on the way out of the stadium, he had obviously been beaten up pretty good by the cheerleaders as they took him under control.

Same game, I think: The tiger was prowling the sidelines swinging a rubber chicken on a rope. One of the coot faithful leaned out of the first row and threw a coke on him. The tiger swung the chicken a little faster and nicely popped the coot in the head with it.

1989, as we were winning 45-0, so old coot lady behind me was screaming that they should break Terry Allen's leg. I politely explained to her that he was already running on a gimpy leg (and kicking their butt BTW). True to form, she was gone in the 3rd quarter. Good times.
