Covid…..again….

Jul 21, 2022, 1:14 PM
Reply

well folks Covid is running through the household again. We’re young and healthy and vaxxed(not boosted) and had Covid in January 2022, so we should make a full and speedy recovery.

This seems to be life nowadays. Every summer and every winter a variant will rise up, infect the majority of the population and then seemingly disappear for awhile. So far this one has been a little worse than the first but still comparable to the flu in terms of symptoms.

Wish us luck!

Just had it myself

So did the wife.

Best thing I can say is rest, rest and rest some more and keep drinking plenty of healthy fluids.

Also, when you start to feel better (Day 5-8), don't jump back into your normal routine. My wife and I tested negative after 6-7 days, and did too much that weekend and it came back a few days later and we tested positive a second time.

The relapse is real so take an easy.

Its going to be just that....the new norm. The majority will recover just like any other flu or cold, tho there will still be some casualties (again just like with the flu or any other virus) to those with underlying conditions and elderly. Its going to have to stop being treated like its something new eventually.

Wife and I had it here in Switzerland a couple weeks ago.

We're 2 times boosted (for a total of 4 shots) and we were thankful for the 4. Covid hurts, but 4 shots take a lot of the "sting" out of it.

Hope everyone gets well!

Get ready Murica, another wave coming (even after the one y'all have now).

My wife and son and I all had it about 3 weeks ago now. Hit me hardest (52yo w/asthma, but I'm very active). My wife and son bounced back pretty quick. I've been running again and can do it, but my times are really slow compared to before. Feels like there's a rubberband around my lungs and I just can't get all the air in that I need. It does seem to be getting better, though.

Hope you all heal up quickly and are back at it soon!

I got covid again about a month ago. I NEVER would have tested had a friend of mine not tested positive.

She had a very bad case and would not answer the phone. So, another friend and I stopped by to check on her, we were 6-8 feet away from the door, she opened the door to tell us what she needed. Four days later, my friend and I who stopped by tested positive. Both of us never would have known had we not tested - virtually no symptoms. BTW, both my friend and I had had covid before. The one who had the bad case did not. My conclusion - natural antibodies are more effective than vaccines.

Meh, I've lost track. Al lI know is I will never test

positive for it. I'm not immune, the tests suck, but I'll pretend I have super immunity and the test are not actually crap.

My brain tells me that since the other FOUR people who live with me in my house, who have all tested positive for covid, twice, each, while having symptoms, while I also had the same symptoms and NEVER tested positive, I will just assume I have super immunity.

I have cleaned up diarrhea from a covid positive toddler. Had one cough in my face for hours while sleeping in my lap (a full day almost). Eaten after a covid positive kid. Never wore a mask around anyone with the whole house, and myself, sick. But yeah, I've "never had covid".

PS. The tests suck.

The tests absolutely suck. They can’t come up with a reliable test for Covid but yet they have reliable vaccines ? Lol. Yeah right.

it, never tested positive, and they say they have "super immunity". It's laughable. I'm in that boat and I sure as heck don't think I've never had it. I think the tests suck.

There's a guy on TikTok doing one of those obvious studies you would think scientists would do, but don't, or do and don't say anything about it. He works in some lab, and every week he runs an antibody tests, showing his antibody levels. He's charted this for over a year now, since before his first vaccine. Each vaccine shows a spike in antibodies. He recently got sick, with symptoms, and tested positive, and there's a spike for that too. BUT, what's amazing are the 3-4 other spikes he's had that were not positive tests, or even any symptoms. He figures he's been infected 4 times now, with only one resulting in a positive test and symptoms. But his antibodies show multiple exposures and infections.

And they do have reliable tests for covid, all you have to do is bend over ;)

The tests are "reliable", but the virus is not reliably in the areas you swab, which is the issue. Helps to swab your throat. 30% more likely to find it there.

That’s a fair point. There’s no doubt people have been exposed many times and large numbers show no symptoms when infected. I had Covid about 20 months ago. (No doubt because I tested positive and was sick as a 3 eyed goat). Since then I’ve had contact with many people sick with Covid. I’ve never had a vaccine and neither has anyone in my family. We’ve all had Covid once. Did we have other infections? Who knows but if we did we were all asymptomatic.

Thanks to all for the well wishes and prayers.

Fever got to 104 last night. After a 3 hour stay in the ER, a bag of fluids, and an extra large dose of tylenol, fever came down and went back home. VA Doc said probably ba4 or ba5 variant and the vaccines are pretty much useless now because the variants spike protein(which is what the vaccines train your body to try and recognize) is completely different that the original strain.

Spoke with a few nurses who have had multiple cases and they all said the same thing. No rhyme or reason to how it affects you. Sometimes mild, sometimes knocks you on your asse.

Anyways thanks again, still struggling through with high fever, but i think the finish line is near.
