So SEC homers can claim afterwards they weren't interested in being there.*

Apr 2, 2013, 8:47 PM

It's going to be a great game...UGA has some serious talent as do we. They have lost alot on defense so hopefully we'll have an edge but if we can't get to Murray it will likely be a long night.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not worried about Murray really

Apr 2, 2013, 9:04 PM

I'm more worried about Keith Gurley and Todd Marshall...Is that right?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Don't read too much into this article

Apr 2, 2013, 8:47 PM

Any team concentrating on their 1st game at this point in the season are not focused on the right things. They will not start preparing for Clemson until about two weeks prior. Fundementals, conditioning, assignments, plays ...

Aron Curry is pretty good.

“We lost to South Carolina both years, and we still made it to the SEC championship. I don’t think you can base your season on one game, besides the SEC championship -- which will get you to the national championship.”

Getting to the sec championship isn't even a must for NC***

No scorefest that night...but we win.

Apr 2, 2013, 10:00 PM

I dont see all the offense everyone else does. yes we both have high scoring offenses..but nerves and early season bad route running/pass blocking screwups, and just bad decosions make me think this is a 27-23 game. Clemson has homefield and more at stake with a loss..Tigers by 4 in a late 4th quarter score to win sort of ending.

We will not suffer any early season difficulties with

route running or throwing the ball accurately. Jeez.

The big issues will be protecting Tajh and getting to Murray. Do a solid job of both and we could have a whole lot of fun on 8/31.

Really?? You gonna throw in powerhouse 3-8 Auburn you had to sneak by. No way it will be a blowout by either team, history has proven that plus add being first game of the season, it will be decided late by less than 3 points.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Meh...they're all SEC teams.

Apr 3, 2013, 8:01 AM

Eagles, Dawgs what's the difference?

badge-donor-20yr.jpgbadge-ringofhonor-revdodd.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Exactly...I thought if they were in the SEC meaning they

Apr 3, 2013, 9:33 AM

were unbeatable...especially by a lowly ACC team like Clemson...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Exactly how many "powerhouses" are in the SEC?

Apr 3, 2013, 9:35 AM [ in reply to Re: That's OK ... neither did Auburn*** ]

Bama? Hate to burst your bubble, but that's about it...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Exactly how many "powerhouses" are in the SEC?

Apr 3, 2013, 10:06 AM

That's it?!? Uh, ok.

Here's the Top 10 from last year; there's FOUR SEC teams int the Top 10.

AP Poll (2012 Final Rankings)

1. Alabama (59) 13-1
2. Oregon 12-1
3. Ohio State 12-0
4. Notre Dame 12-1
5. Georgia 12-2
5. Texas A&M 11-2
7. Stanford 12-2
8. South Carolina 11-2
9. Florida 11-2
10. Florida State 12-2

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Only 4?

Apr 3, 2013, 10:10 AM

Did they teach you math at whatever SEC school you attended?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You're right...five...

Apr 3, 2013, 11:32 AM

...or to use my amazing HALF the top 10.

Still not used to aTm in the SEC.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Don't take credit for aTm, they were good prior to joining

Apr 3, 2013, 12:03 PM

the circle jerk conference.

It's not my fault everyone is blinded by the SEC bias. Clemson will be sure to put an end to that come this season.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Can you not SEE the ridiculousness of having UGA in the top

Apr 3, 2013, 12:27 PM [ in reply to Re: Exactly how many "powerhouses" are in the SEC? ]

10? Who did they play? Buffalo, Mizz, Florida Atl, Vanderbilt, Tenn, USuC, Kentucky, UF, Ole Miss, Auburn, Georgia Southerm, GT...WHERE are the 'powerhouse' teams UGA beat? Looks a #### of a lot like an 'ACC schedule' to me. Of all the teams they played, the only ones that even come close to a tough game is USuC and UF. UGA almost lost to a down Tenn team and got the floor wiped with USuC.

Apr 3, 2013, 9:59 AM [ in reply to Re: That's OK ... neither did Auburn*** ]

I don't know Auburn was pretty #### good the two years prior (2010 and 2011) and Clemson either won or gave them an all out battle, it wasn't the opening game in those seasons, but still.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They would be if...

Re: No scorefest that night...but we win.

Apr 2, 2013, 10:26 PM

I too think it will be a close game though the score could get high (I will not pre-claim a victory or a loss) ... Too much experience for nerves to be a big factor on O. My big disagreement with you is if it is to be decided late, the Dawgs will have the advantage. The earlier the game is decided favors Clemson.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: No scorefest that night...but we win.

Apr 2, 2013, 10:34 PM

Not here to bash you at all, but why do you think a late decision favors Dawgs and early decision favors Tigers?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Re: No scorefest that night...but we win.

Apr 3, 2013, 6:39 AM

843tiger91 - I think that Clemson will jump ahead early for two reasons: 1) We will start out slow on O ... Night game @ Clemson. 2) Boyd will put the ball in the end zone. Then it becomes a game of make up. If Georgia is going to win, then it will happen late in the game. If they don't fight back then Clemson won it early.

Re: Re: No scorefest that night...but we win.

Apr 3, 2013, 11:46 AM

I guess I can see that being a good possibility. It wouldn't surprise me if our D slowed down 2nd half, as it has a few times before

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Looking too far ahead question. We take care of business,

Apr 3, 2013, 8:08 AM

what helps our season more the next week, a Dawg or Coot win?

Thanks for reminding about another reason to dislike the leg humpers. It's the duty of every D-1 team of note to beat Boise State. BS only plays one or two marquee teams a year, eats cupcakes the rest of the season, then beats on their chest that they should be in the National Championship mix. Last season Michigan State saved us all from that by beating BS. When the Dawgs lost we had to hear that all year from BS.

Re: Looking too far ahead question. We take care of business,

Apr 3, 2013, 9:37 AM

I think beating UGAy then the leghumpers beating the coots is the best scenario for us. The Dawgs have a better chance of getting to the $ECheatCG IMO. If we beat 'em and then they go on to a solid season, it helps our SOS and national perception.
